Benitez and Rodgers are the stand-outs above but I don’t believe either would come at this stage.

Therefore Dean Smith is the obvious choice for me - young, attack minded coach, has done great with limited resources, knows the league and knows the club. Has paid his dues and deserves a chance to step up.

Any first-timers are a huge ‘no’ for me.
