O/T Corbyn...time to go?

Back to the topic. Yes I think Corbyn is a bit too old or 2 stuck in some 80s thinking.
Sure he's got some good points raised on doing more for those lower down in society. But some of his other positions are disastrous like defence, anti Jew if it's true, and weak foreign policy. I also think he might be weak on crime and punishment.
The Tories are hopeless now run by a headless chicken and her potential replacements look just as bad or worse.
I think Sajid is quite alright. Must see how he performs with the power as Home Secretary.
Personally I prefer the London Mayor. The way he carries himself and a genuine concern for a better inclusive Britain.
I think a PM from a minority will be good. They'd understand the hardship normal people go through. Even a Muslim even. Maybe it needs a good Muslim leader to bridge the gap on 1 side and get their own to understand the values we hold dear as Britons.
What I fear though is what happens after such a PM.
Don't let extremists and far right people galvanize ordinary White people by playing on their worse fears and elect someone like Trump.
And we saw with the Brexit vote, just how it can be done. Play on fear, spread lies and claim to fight for ordinary people and issue threats that basic rights are going to be given away.

Agree with much of that MA and who’d have thought a simple question about Corbyn would generate such an outpouring?
As ever I’m sympathetic to much of Basie’s politics but equally, as ever, it seems confused...still hasn’t addressed how money is replaced and John Stuart Mill was hardly a radical socialist, much more of a utilitarian capitalist...might I suggest you read, if you haven’t, Dickens’ ‘Hard Times’.
Anyway, back on topic, is Corbyn the man to lead us to this ’socially responsible utopia’ or is he - and those he is undeniably loyal to - a well intentioned electoral liability?

I don't think socialism existed in the times of John Stuart Mill, but he did talk about the Stationary State Economy which was developed by E F Schumacher in the Eco Bible "Small is Beautiful".

Hey ho, what do you know?Mr Big Shot now claims innocence..
Go read what you wrote.
What kind of question is that?
Typical of your I'm very superior. Don't be insulting blah blah.
Anyone with a brain will know I'm not insulting Asians. Just matter of fact the kind of terms the far right would use.
Apparently you find it insulting so the obvious conclusion is that you must be 1 of them. Since the jibe was at the far right and only you find it insulting, one surmises you must have a hard on for them. It's the second time because it's the second time you've chosen to act as if you own the place. Who asked for your opinion anyway? If you feel hate that's your problem. Makes the far right case even stronger as these people always feel hate and are rude. If you were polite and said something like maybe I get your point but perhaps better not use the term anyway as it may give a wrong impression.
That would be polite. Not some lecture on insult ex cetera.
PS I don't give a toss who you think I am or should be. As always you're very flexible with your facts and assumptions. But if you want to respond politely you'll get a polite response. Act as a mod here, too bad. You'll get it in return and unlike your forum, you can't lock threads whenever you're losing an argument.
Now if I guess you right, I think you do give a massive toss what I think, you'll get more and more wound up, leave the forum in a strop and then return a few weeks later, as if nothing has happened. I'm not the only one who's noticed that, here or elsewhere, likewise your 'mod envy' has been noted by others. But as you say, we're off topic.

Tbf...Andy and SirRom...I didn’t think Sir was being offensive in his original post and I’ve seen no evidence that Andy closes down threads when he’s losing. He’s only locked one hasn’t he...and that was because it had degenerated into personal abusiveness which, coincidentally, is what you two are in danger of doing now.

Basie...seems a bit harsh to reject any concept of socialism being around in the late C19th. Off the top of my head, those responsible for the French Revolution, the Chartists, Marx, Engels, the victims of the Peterloo Massacre and the Tolpuddle Martyrs might argue otherwise.

To which I would add Gerrard Winstanley, Ned Ludd & William Morris plus the American Henri David Thoreau but none ever formed a Government with the exception of probably the French who executed their's. As G K Chesterton once said "We are the people of England, we have not spoken yet".

...but you were the one who suggested such philosophies didn’t exist in the time of JS Mill.

The spectre of Dianne Abbot similarly is helping keep Corbyn in power as there must be a huge fear that if he stepped down, she might step up. Corbyn may be difficult to see lading the country, Abbot would be impossible. Given her mathematical skills she would probably end up in Number 7

Yes she tends to have a migraine when important votes are needed

Philosophy obviously did, but in Government No until Attlee & Bevan came along, even then there was a strong anti-socialist Establishment in the background.

There is always John McDonnell, Emily Thornberry or David Lammy who could step up.

I think the only 1 with modness or rather madness is you. Twice you've jumped in and had a pop at me when I did nothing to incite you.
Therefore I'm right. This mod thing has gone to your head.
Not only do want to mod there but here as well.
So stop acting like your child in here. And no one envies your mod status. This power trip is going to your head.
Now please stfu with your theories. And let me post what I want and where I want.
If I break a rule here let Bloomer decide. Not some jobsworth from elsewhere.

PS RA - I'm quite amused with you insisting who I am. I think it's funny so please continue. Add a few more names if you like. We have lots of detectives here looks like.

I think the Tories have shown that they cannot be trusted with power. But I think Corbyn should be an elder statesman and let someone younger take over. Sadiq or Burnham would be my picks. But both need to get back into Parliament

Tbh, I’m not terribly bothered who you are and I’m certainly not going to fall out about it, especially today of all days.
Don’t get why you are constantly having a pop at AF, seems to be a touch of the green eyed monster about it all but why...I don’t know and that’s your issue...nothing to do with me.

As for Khan and Burnham...both decent enough politicians imo but both disqualified from the leadership by their current roles.

Excuse me. I'm having a pop at him? Get your facts right. It's him who started all this.
I don't know what his agenda is but I'm certainly not interested in his position so don't be telling me green eyed.
Be fair before you jump the gun. Better still let's discuss topics rather than that jobsworth.

You don't have to confine your pops to one person. I'd like to pick on you but you seem so stupid that it's hard to know where to begin.
