O/T Corbyn...time to go?

Okay...while we wait for Sunday, just a thought for those who are interested.
With UKIP no longer relevant and the Tories in total disarray, even by their standards...Corbyn’s Labour Party still fails to make any meaningful headway.
I know local issues tend to have a greater impact at local elections than they do in General Elections but this dreadful government is barely even being challenged by any form of opposition, so isn’t it time to change and either give us a grown up alternative, Keir Starmer perhaps, or a proper cross party alliance?

Another one who has had his mind laundered by Murdoch and the Tory media.:hmmm:

You have to feel for Corbs. Photoshopped into photos claiming that he actively supported the IRA. Lambasted by Tories for campaigning for talks WITH the IRA to seek a peaceful solution whilst at the same time as his campaign, the TORY government were actually IN talks with the IRA. His wish for a peaceful world is seen as a weakness whereas it is a strength...... that gets ignored. The Press, 90% in the hands of foreign nationals who live abroad and pay no UK tax or ex pat Brits who also pay no UK tax, hammer him remorselessly. Poor bloke doesn't stand a chance. Having Ms Abbott as a sidekick doesn't help him either. The problem is that it doesn't really matter which party(ies) are in power, the banks will still run roughshod over us, the financial markets will do their worst, people like Soros will still have the power to destabilise an entire nation on a whim. Companies will advertise jobs and then not reply to applicants. They will merger and then force suppliers to accept less for their goods or risk losing their suppliership. Mergers also lead to job losses and a longer dole queue. The entire world is run with one purpose in mind...... an ever shrinking number of people ensuring more and more money and power gets into fewer hands.......... time for revolution people.

At least he is not being accused of being in bed with the Reds.

Basie...you know that little squiggly thing with a dot beneath it at the end of a sentence...it means I’m asking a question, not making a statement.
If you have an original thought or opinion please offer it. That’s what MA has done...compare and contrast...rather than just making ridiculous comments and posting pictures.
Even MoP has offered an opinion even though I know he’s taking the wotsit and it’s just banter.
It’s not about agreeing, disagreeing or even, as you suggested yesterday, ‘liking’...I’m just asking anyone who’s interested what they think especially in a city which seemed to go against the general consensus last night.

RA of course your right something has to change Will it doubtful Momentum have such a strong hold over the Labour party Only a breakaway party can save or alter anything Keir Starmer maybe but no body seems to be in a rush to do anything Corbyn is right wars and disputes can only be settled by talking look what has happened in North and South Korea but I'm pretty sure peace is not in the agenda for a lot of arms companies especially ours

Yep, totally agree with what you say about Corbyn mista. I think he’s a decent man, but his stance on Brexit and anti-Semitism shows a lack of clarity and leadership imo.
If, as leader, he can’t see off the Tories when they’re as divided as they currently are, with a major sacking/resignation every couple of months, then I think questions have to be asked. In the same way as I never doubt Keogh’s commitment, I don’t doubt Corbyn’s decency, but I don’t think either are good leaders.

Corby is the best hope that the Tories have of clinging on to power. They won't want him to quit and a credible leader of the opposition emerge.

Yes RA he's not a leader as for Brexit he's always been between a rock and a hard place Whatever he does he is either going to upse t Remainers or Brexiteers with 17million votes at risk he's having to walk a tightrope. As I said before nothing is going to change Momentum will see to that As for anti semitism if you believe the right wing press only the Labour party have a problem with it where the truth is 18 Tory councillors and 5 Lib Dems are suspended by their parties for Anti semitism remarks at the moment

What is this anti-semitism business ? I would like to ask Jews all over the world whether they agree with the hard nosed violent apartheid stance adopted by Israel. If they do I then although normally sympathetic to them in past I could become very anti-semitic or should it be anti-zionist.

If you like Corbyn then why do you go along with the Tory press which is that Corbyn has reached his peak.

At last...some sense from you!
I agree with the point you make. Unfortunately I think you’ve made it better than JC...that’s the leader of the Labour Party...not the ‘King of the Jews’ one.

Roger’s point sums up the problem to me. Popular with the revolutionary adventurists in Momentum but not enough credibility elsewhere imo.

P.S. Basie...I quite like Corbyn as a person and sympathise with many of his views but that doesn’t mean that, objectively, I have to acknowledge him as a potential PM.
I don’t actually like Tony Blair very much but I think most would agree that, in political terms, he could run circles round the current bunch of Westminster charlatans.
Ultimately I want a better and fairer society...yes...’for the many not the few’...but I doubt that Corbyn is capable of achieving that aim and for that reason I’d like a change.
I’m not personally influenced by what you refer to as the ‘Murdoch/Tory’ press but many people are and however well intentioned the likes of Corbyn, McDonald and Abbott may be I think that they are, rightly or wrongly, a barrier to the election of a left of centre government.

Personally I think we got the 2 leaders in waiting.
Sadiq or Sajid.
I'd be happy with either.
Now this will be a real turn up for all the racist haters.
A '****' PM.
And I'm Not' using this term in racist terms.
Just to shove 2 fingers at those who harbour such feelings.
The only worry is that after them, Britain does a USA and vote in a Trump.
After a great President Obama. The first Black, the red necks came out in droves to vote in the orangutan

Obviously you want a credible capitalist like Blair and not socialists like Attlee, Bevan or even William Morris. Equality of opportunity is not Socialism but Capitalism without ruling elites but still as destructive when it comes to trashing the planet.

Sort of related, I watched the usual party-biased screaming match they call Question Time last night, and Martin 'MoneySavingExpert' made fools of the rest of the panel (IMO) simply by explaining things like the fallacy of student 'debt' in a clear manner. Not sure who the banshee next to him was as I missed the start, but comparing her (I guess a politician) to him ( a mere mortal) I know who I'd rather have running my country

Can't you make a point without being insulting?
