The Owners & CEO Thread

Until we get accountability in the club we will continue to fail. Over the last 10 years or so we have employed people who have failed to take account for their actions. Watching that Bobby Robson film it was stark how he made himself the person responsible for everything on and off the pitch at Ipswitch. The buck stopped at him. Even down to coming into work on a Monday morning greeting everybody at the offices. We need Purslow, or Smith to take the responsibility for making Aston Villa successful on and off the pitch. Live it breath it. Clubs that do that succeed. Those that just have employees who don't live it breath it fail.

It's a fallacy to think PL experience is necessary. The PL isn't the "English game"; it's an international game. It is where it is because of recruitment from all over the world, and the ingredients that brings. How much PL experience did Wolves use to build to where they are now? None.

That is true, but Wolves are a bit of an unusual case. They may not have had players with Premier League specific experience, but they WERE premier league quality.

Bought relatively cheaply and apparently on low (by Champions League player standards) wages !!!

Its hilarious that all wolves fans I know absolutely refuse to admit that there's been any dodgy dealings there. Apparently Jota just reeeeally wanted to live in the black country instead of Madrid and Neves turned down a load of champions clubs for them because he's a big Steve Bull fan.

Interesting :hmmm:

Obviously we had no idea how big Bully was on the continent......who knew?

Does anyone know, who is going to be held responsible for appointing Suso?
Presumably, the owners will have handed the responsibility to find a sporting director to the chief exec?

Is that right?

Suso came with a bad reputation so to my mind the owners need to take a long hard look at Purslow and themselves for allowing us to recruit badly from top down.

Couple of brown paper bags at Strensham Services? In the cold light of day, with all the so-called regulations how on earth do they pull off the transfers of Patricio and Mouthino to name a couple.....? These are players that wouldn't be out of place at the likes of Inter Milan or Athletico Madrid, yet here they are at a club that has spent the best part of 40 years in the lower division(s) of English football. It's akin to Lewandowski and Neuer rolling up at Dusseldorf....
