Kamala Harris is a definite care crash.
To me... She seems absolutely useless. Just makes a very uncomfortable sniggering laugh when asked a tough question.
Didn't she get less than 1% of the vote when she went up for being a candidate and withdrew because no-one voted for her.

She's got a fantastic chance to prove doubters wrong with the immigration remit.

If she doesn't nail it, it'll become the goto criticism for everyone.

I tend to agree with her, going to the border doesn't solve anything. Going to a root cause may actually get something done. The border wall and the crisis at the wall is a symptom.

If anyone has ever watched Sin Nombre it gives a tiny glimpse at what it must be like. Follows a young family from El Salvador I think as they make the journey to America.

If you look at the task Biden has given her, it is to actually sort out the root causes, not what's happening at the border.

Going there won't help with that, whatsoever.

Mexican and US authorities - border force etc.

If Harris is supposed to be looking deeper, then that will involve more Government tie ins to focus in on traffickers, the drug ends and it will involve improvements in Mexico so the US because naturally slightly less attractive as a destination.

As I've understood it today, there's not a lot of difference between our issues with France and the Channel, but we've got no one looking into the root issues as it's so easy to blame bloody immigrants and the bloody French.

Sort of builds on the last chat in 'hate what the world is becoming'.

His following tweets are interesting as well as from what I've seen, but he didn't actually say that. He was talking about race theory in general as he wanted to know why 11% of those arrested at the Capitol were members of the forces, so he wanted to understand their anger.

Not the critical race theory per se.

He also talked about reading Mao, Lenin and Marx so he knew more, it didn't mean he was a communist either.

Saw this today too, I thought it was excellent and he said nothing controversial but it'll be twisted this way and that. Exactly as you said Mike, he spoke purely "matter of fact" without judgement of what he even thought CRT. I do think he implied there was something to it. Its fantastic to see someone in a leadership position "know a few things" or as he said actually be well-read.

If you are talking about the 2020 Presidential candidacy/election, then yes, she withdrew after a lack of support.

But having served as the California AG from 2011-2017 and as a state Senator for California from 2017-2021 (when she became the Vice-President), I'd say she seems to appeal to voters pretty well.

Just my opinion, mind you.

Well yes. All about opinions isn't it.
She didn't get voted in by the voters for vice presidency though did she?
I don't see an inspirational leader in this woman one bit. I see poison. Just my opinion though.

I'm not seeing what you are seeing, Col. I don't really know anything about her. I believe Fox News have painted her as some extreme left loonie. She just seems like a woman trying to do a difficult job to me.

Why do you think she's poison?

Just my opinion and my impression. I don't watch Fox news.
The way she speaks to journalists.
The way she has that ridiculous laugh when asked a difficult question.
Her responses to questions.
Like most politicians a hypocrite. When Trump told Mexicans not to cross the border she aggressively opposed him... Then we had the 'dont come, don't come, don't come' speech a few days ago. Huh?
Of course it's a difficult job. That goes without saying. But from what I have seen she doesn't motivate, inspire, educate and seems out of her depth.
My gut feeling and opinion.

I know that here he was just putting out ideas, but it was revealed the other day that the GOP has decided to vilify CRT as their next best chance of winning in 2022.

There was a leaked video of one of their strategists saying that they would twist what it actually is into something they could rile up voters. Much like they tried to do with "socialism", they'll change its meaning to their own ends.

Who do they report to?
Do you think they are doing a good job?

Border Patrol contains a lot of Trump supporters, and undercover journalists discovered they were deliberately sabotaging Biden efforts to address the problem. Biden has taken measures to ensure they can't, now, and you will notice stories about the border have dropped off recently.

DHS is actually deporting more people than Trump did, because he reduced their funding for immigration courts.

Once again, I urge you to stop listening to right wing sources, and find a balanced viewpoint here. You're being conned by those looking to paint Biden as decrepit old man, when the truth is, he's actually doing an incredible job.

Pence is finally showing some balls.

"You know, every office holder in this country takes the same oath, to support and defend the Constitution of the United States," Pence noted. "I took that oath as vice president — on President Ronald Reagan's Bible."

In short, what Trump attempted to do was unconstitutional.

And they won by 7 million votes, as well, so that seems like a decent endorsement to me.

And the VP is never "elected" by the public. The Presidential nomination chooses them, and usually they don't get much press. The fact Kamala does is down to their inability to find anything that sticks to Biden.
