The Aston Villa Kit Thread 2018 - Luke Roper Shirt

I think both the home and away kits look very good and this is reflected in the 700% increase in sales which is fantastic.

Well done Luke Roper:clap::utv::utv:

Just read that sales of the Villa shirt are up 700% this season compared to last!!!

:clap::clap::clap:

Great to see such a nice shirt is being well received by the Villa faithful.

Obviously you can't please everyone. Some people are just miserable fuckers with no taste, but it seems like the vast majority are impressed.

Here's the article from GQ Magazine that mentions the 700% rise in sales.

It also ranks us as the nicest kit in the Championship.

West hams hero worship go's to a new level not only is there shirt the same they now have a gold lion on it.View attachment 28031

The kit stealers take it to another level.

It just makes my dislike of the club even stronger but mainly its supporters if that's possible. Those at that shithole in March 1980 will know what I mean with non-stop fighting throughout the game and continued outside as well plus we were cheated with a last minute penalty against us.

How appropriate it is owned by the Porn Barons and run by slapper Brady.

I accept football has no guarentees, i accept we will lose, I accept heroes will leave. I even accept that at some point, we may not play at Villa Park.

However, I demand 2 things from my football club, just two things

1. We are called Aston Villa

2. We play in Claret Shirt, Blue Sleeve.

Can you imagine if Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal , Spurs, or any Euro club worthy of note dossed around with their home kit.

I am flummexed on how a supposedly Aston Villa fan can even contemplate changing it.

Total disgrace in my eyes. Financial worries are worrying but things like that happen in life.

Disregarding your history shouldnt !!!.

This post just gets funnier each time I read it. Stuck with me when i first read it but didn't want to argue as it's one mans opinion versus another's but now it seems like the vast majority love the new kit I just thought it needed bumping...

By the way... the following Villa kits did not have blue sleeves. 2001/2002, 1993/1995, 1986/1987, 1985/1986, 1984/1985, 1983/1984, 1969/1970,..... you get my point right? So as much as you DEMAND blue sleeves we've 'dossed' around withthe design plenty in the past.

As for the other clubs you mention. Man United added a big thick black stripe to their kit in 2009/2010, they even played in WHITE (with a red stripe) between 1922-1927!

Liverpool went from all red to red & white between 1991-1995.

Arsenal played in fucking PURPLE in 2005-2006

Spurs added solid dark blue sleeves to their traditional all white kit in 2005/2006.

I think I've made my point.

As long as it's claret & blue and looks nice then

I wasn't keen when I first saw it as I thought it was just a blatant copy of an old shirt.
However the more I've seen it the more it's grown on me and when you see other club's efforts you can see why it's been voted the top kit.

Thought the boro kit was decent, also liked this one for the discerning Sandwell female :rofl:From bags to boilers :whist: Not very pc that.

Have to say, I LOVE the new kit and couldn’t understand the fuss about the lack of blue sleeves. For me Villa are Claret & Blue, not Claret shirt & Blue sleeves. The kit has them colours (with proper claret) and, for my money, is one of the best looking kits we’ve had in my lifetime. I’m delighted it has been so embraced by the fans - as evidenced by the fantastic sales.

I may even buy one, and I NEVER buy the shirt!

I bought every shirt, home and away, plus many GK tops from 1982 until 2014, then I started getting picky. This new one will likely be my first home shirt that I'll wear proudly in public since the ACORNS model. I'm still waiting for the release of the third kit, which I've convinced myself will be specifically designed for the Over-40/Plus 3-stone crowd such as myself....:clap::clap:

Got mine in the mail and wore it yesterday. Looks great, material is fine, the only thing I've noticed that I don't love is that the sleeves are rather built for the type of person who spends 14 hours a day doing bicep curls, and as a result make me look a bit lacking in the arms department.

Got Hourihane on the shirt as I have a history of buying players who then get sold or injured long-term, and while I do like Connor, I wouldn't be gutted if he was gone (and don't think he's in danger of being sold)

What size are you in US sizes and what did you buy Yank?

Small, buy a small every year, this new shirt is definitely not as form fitting as the under armour of the last couple years, but even the old Nike shirts which were a bit looser didn't have sleeves like this one

Cheers. You and I are on opposite sides of the “size spectrum” as I am a large/xl. The last shirt I bought was the Macron one with the yellow dafabet sponsorship. Bought a large and it fit like a glove - the same one that OJ used at his trial....

I still haven't got mine, anyone know if they are back in stock at Villa Park? Last time I looked they were available to order for the end of August.
My biggest problem with Luke was could he cope with demand there's only so may Chinese sweatshops out there and the big boys have most of them!

Went up the shop last weekend plenty of kits in stock but training gear was out of stock.
Think we've got the kits being made in bangladesh

The concern I had at the start of the thread.

Indeed( frightening stuff, was in the South Bank with my Dad whose lip these likeable cockney chappies split, bad move but the end was riddled with them all game and the 88th minute non penalty ? I believe they got a friendly welcome for there endeavours at the semi final at VP though, what comes around and all that
