Interesting that I always thought he dived far more for us than he ever did at United, especially when he reinvented himself as a fullback and lost that ability to go past players.
I was embarrassed by his diving to the point I even laughed out loud at games when he conned the ref. I shed no tears when he left that's for sure.
He seems to have cut out that nonsense and he is forgiven by me and I'm looking forwards to seeing the more mature Aslhey Young in a Villa shirt once again, he's become a more rounded player.

I think he'll get the odd few starts and the last 30 mins in a fair few games. which to be fair we haven't had the players to do that these last 2 seasons. Our bench is so weak

I think he's brilliant and will go down as a "club legend". He's actually one of the best players in the squad at the moment. If he goes into coaching I'd love to see him do it here and manage us one day.

Gerrard obviously appreciates him. He's slowed down a bit and he never was the most reliable of goal scorers but his huge experience shines through. I'm sure he'll get offers to join the coaching team.
