Summer Transfer Thread

This level of football no matter what any one says about Naylor and Power. Big losses for us this season. Need to find a midfield hard man. Some one to protect he ball player sort this Smith is. Don’t think he’s a tackling sort of player. And Theo certainly isn’t. With out protection they will get kicked of the park.

Power was not a holding mid fealder and last 12 months cud not tackle........

Unless we have a mass exodus and don't replace them the squad we have should be able to comfortably get clear of the relegation zone even with the points deduction.

From the L1 team that won it last time we've lost Darikwa who was pretty much the weakest link back then, Power who we've hopefully replaced by Matt Smith and Naylor who we haven't replaced yet. The rest of the regulars from that side are still here and we'll hopefully add to that.

A few years ago Barnsley were in the bottom 4 when we played them in December and wnt on to win the play offs in December. Coventry and Luton both had lacklustre starts to last season but both made the play off final last season. So if we get our recruitment and tactics right, we still have a strong side so who knows what could happen.

Don't think Power is much of a loss. Quite old, big wage and isn't definitely better than Smith who's got years of development left.

How the hell can you say that. 3 times played for us at this lever. 3 winners medals. Smith one season league 3 no goals and a relegation. To his name. Looks a good prospect but let’s see him first before we compare him to MAX

Smith has potential and hopefully can step up and be a good player for us but Power was tried and tested at this level.

Max was a key player and had around 20 goal contributions in the L1 title side, so that will be a loss. Hopefully we'll be able to mitigate that with our recruitment but ideally you never want to see that many goal contributions walk out the door.
 
The thing is, Power is a couple of years older from when we embarked on our/his (3rd) title winning season.

He's probably still good enough, but who knows. He was never the quickest, and that pitch probably looks longer each season.
I'm just disappointed I never got to see a goal as a result of one of his long throws! 👀

Same could be said about other players Ant who were part of Leams side. One stands out in particular. James McClean and he does with his gob what power did with his finger. Granted he has the commitment but he hasn't got the legs to play wing back and that could be Shaun's first big mistake if he expects Jimmy to defend and attack as well. One or the other or better still replace with a younger wing back or play him from the bench. Alternatively play him at left back in a back four.
 
Looks like Antonee Robinson signed a new deal looking at his Instagram post which says 2028 and a pic of him in his Fulham shirt. Looks like sell on clause disappeared...... FFS!
 
The sell on clause will only last for the length of the original contract. 1 year left. After that time period, the clause drops off unless there is some crazy stipulation in there which i doubt.

Not sure that's right, must be loads of players who sign extensions before they move to a new club and their previous club gets a sell-on. If you're right, then surely every club, would just extend a player's contract by an extra year with a pay rise of £100 a week or something, the day after they signed
