Doesn't McGugan sound similar to Stewart? Player with a good pedigree whose career appears to have come to a flying stop. Not sure what is behind that.

Having said that, Eardley was a Northampton cast-off.

Maybe considered a one year deal heavily incentivised but he's a massive risk for any league 2 club on a two year deal. Particularly one that flirted with relegation last season.

he should get plenty of game time. and playing alongside pope. yet another big chance for miller... wonder how this one will go?

Sat on a plane next to a Mansfield season ticket holder a couple of weeks ago going on holiday and talking football he said Miller was going to Port Vale

Three different Football League managers (McCann, Evans, Flitcroft) had Miller last season and didn't play him. There must be football reasons for that.

I have a feeling Smith is already signed and we're just waiting for somebody else, e.g a striker, to sign their deal before we announce Smith. That way they can keep a steady flow of signing announcements. Or maybe what I've just said is a load of rubbish but hey.
