Summer Transfer Rumours

Interesting that Danny may be about to replace the 2017 Reusch Goalkeeper of the Year with the 2018 winner.

Lets hope the 2018 winner copes with the step up better than the 2017 winner did if indeed we do sign him.

Just checked, in fact you're right, it was Adam Virgo's team of the year. Andrade is still in here too

I see we're being linked with Lewis McGugan, hasn't played since January ( bit of a worry) and another older midield player as he'll turn 30 in the autumn.
Bit like Eardley seems to have dropped down the leagues having been a championship regular with florist and also played for Watford and the Wendies.

McGugan was a seriously good player when at Forest – especially good at taking set-pieces – and did well at Watford for a season, but his career has nosedived since then. He was frozen out at Wednesday for a long time, although he was injured for a long period of time, and one has to wonder why he struggled at Northampton… and since been released.

It took a while to track something down, but this Twitter thread from Northampton fans about his release suggests that he wasn't bad at all and that his release may have had more to do with the size of the Northampton squad and the length of the contracts that others were on. That said, it seems odd he didn't pick up anything for the tail end of last season,

Now we've signed O'Connor, plus we have Bostwick, Freck and Pett, not sure where he'd fit in.

Doesn't McGugan sound similar to Stewart? Player with a good pedigree whose career appears to have come to a flying stop. Not sure what is behind that.

Having said that, Eardley was a Northampton cast-off.

Ricky Miller signs for Port Vale, wonder if he was ever likely here given his recent misdemeanours? Oh well another one to cross off if he was.
