Some good news .....

I know we're (rightfully) giving plaudits for the first XI coaching "team" (cobbled together as they are), but the continued success of the U18s (and the U23s) is an absolutely superb achievement by all those involved in protecting the beating heart of our club and it's future.

Thanks to all. We salute you.

The under 23s are shite. Mainly because they’ve all been promoted to play in the first team instead due to admin.

Won 11
Drawn 4
Lost 7

Define that as shite if you like CL, but in the circumstances I'd say that's beyond harsh ... especially given that you acknowledge the significant step up being asked of many of the players.
It wasn’t a criticism...

Rioch always gets the plaudits for anything to do with the youth as he is the head of academy, but without trying to dismiss his importance at all, there are managers and coaches working with the youth players we barely hear about who probably have been just as influential. As you say they've managed to keep the youth teams success going without much praise and it certainly deserves some. Rioch certainly appears to have assembled a good team that seems to be starting to produce genuine talent after decades struggling to produce any.

Just been reading the Administrators have paid back the £170,000 fans first donated. Is that money to be used by the SC or is it being returned to fans. ?

It’s the money which goes back to the SC for good causes

Zakky, as Swindon says, it's going to the SC. There was never a commitment to pay this back to those who donated ... just by the admins to pay back the SC.

Here's an extract from the article on the SC site, together with a link:

Supporting good causes, community projects, and local charities in the name of Wigan Athletic…
Any re-donations will be added to the original Crowdfunder total of £200,000, and the Supporters Club will ensure that all monies are donated to good causes relating to Wigan Athletic, projects in the community, or charitable causes in the local area*. We will consult with supporters to ensure that the fans have insight and input into how the funds are used, and the projects that are supported.

Makes a change, they wasn't very good sharing news/insight with supporters during administration.

Totally disgusted with them and the NDA they signed!

I'm sure they'll be distraught at your disgust.

PS: The answer to the first part of your post (not good at sharing) is in the second part (NDA) ... but you already knew that, didn't you. ;)
