Preferred Bidder can be named today

Whoever it is I won’t be judging them on their place of origin or net worth. They’ll get from me a whole heartened thank you for feeling so strongly about us that they are willing to spend a lot of their money on saving our club and a full pledge of support for both them and the club. As a fanbase we need to show them why our club is special and different from the rest despite our lack of numbers.

I've just listened to the Jay Whittle interview with the administrator and there was one thing that stuck out to me that i've not heard anyone else mention.

He said the people making bids for the club do have influence over potential player sales. He said if the people likely to end up the preffered bidder want him to shrink the wage bill then that is what he will do.

So for all of the talk about players like Moore potentially leaving so close to us getting a new owner in, it might be effectively be given the nod by the potential new owners if they want to cut back costs before they get in.

He also spoke about the appeal and while he didn't get into specifics it sounded from what he said that we are looking to challenge the appeal on Covid grounds rather than any of the other theories.

I heard the new investors are Viagra, because sometimes we have trouble keeping ourselves up

I'm not Psychic but the admin will officially know who the preferred Bidder is today, upto them or the owner to come out, I assume based on the admin record if being very open to the fans, that it's likely to know tonight. But I'm not one of them. But they CAN be named later today.

Looks like it was can rather than will, then, Franco. Will is news, can isn't 🙃

Millwall now had offer in for Moore of 1.8m apparently.

I hope he doesn't go but realistically he may have to as someone will need to go to pay the bills.

If you offered me zero players in or out for next season I'd take that happily but I don't think that will be possible.

Alan Nixon says the prefered bidder has already been selected and a press confrence set for tomorrow. He says he has an idea but hasn't been able to confirm it. Due to the nature of these things i genuinely don't know if he would be allowed to legally name them if he wanted to.

But it seems if there is a press confrence the identity wont be kept a secret, so it wont be long to wait.

Fingers cross it's someone good and if we are lucky they will be able to put a deposit in that will stop the assets leaving before they take over.

What is the betting it's a fellow from St Helens who does not like wigan worriers ;)

Anyone know when we get the solidarity payments from the EFL which are filtered down from the Prem?
It's over 2 million apparently and in our current predicament, obviously that money is vital!
I remember Parry said we were due to get it just after we went into administration.

We get that as soon as we are out of admin. It is an advanced payment for next season we just have to effectively prove we will be competing in the league next season rather than going bust.

Surely with a preferred bidder being announced tomorrow the EFL could then let us have that money or at least some of it to help see us through the next few weeks till the owner is confirmed. That money is absolutely crucial to us at this time!
