I think it is two games for a repeat offence yep. I actually feel a bit sorry for Husband, he's been hung out to try by Critchley really instead of being given a chance in his own specialist position. Even though we know he has this side to his game, he's not getting repeat red cards in successive home games if he's playing at left back. The opposition would still be targeting the high line with balls over the top in the gaps for runners, but he wouldn't be put in as many last man scenarios. And is more of a defender than Mitchell who is a left winger.
It looks like the only reason Husband hasn't had the same straight out the door treatment as some of the other players inherited is because Critchley wanted to use his left foot in the middle for balance to try to make this system work. Now they've brought forward the signing of this left footed centre half that Garrity has noticed playing long balls from left to right in Norway he's just going to be a sacrificial lamb who they'll just throw away in January when the next scattergun starts. Unless they've got Gretarsson in and suddenly realised he's a mile off what they expected.
I prefer the 3-4-2-1 set up above as well. Works for me but this robotic flat 4-1-2-3 is just going to be drilled into the players until they find a way to make it work I think. One single idea inherited from Liverpool and nothing else. I'm guessing it's fingers crossed that some of the players who've been out injured, or just signed and not seen yet, are the ones who are going to help it click into place through better individual quality, but we'll see. Even a more fluid 4-3-3 would work for me with two sitting in midfield and one supporting the attack who move about and work closely with each other. Not arsed about keep ball and passing stats, just focus on winning the game.
Expecting MK to line up with wing backs tomorrow but maybe stronger down the left. They like to dominate possession as well so will be interesting to see who's done the best homework for it.
