January Window

Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic are ready to rival Stoke City for Blackpool midfielder Jordan Thompson, Football Insider understands.
The 22-year-old midfielder has emerged as a target for all three Championship clubs ahead of the transfer window reopening in January.

A source at Blackpool has told Football Insider that Blackburn and Wigan have been in contact to express their interest in Thompson as the duo have enquired about his potential availability next month.

Stoke had previously been leading the chase for the midfielder with Potters boss Michael O’Neill keen to be reunited with the player after handing him his international debut for Northern Ireland.
Blackpool are aware of the growing interest in Thompson and they are bracing themselves for offers for the 22-year-old in January as Stoke, Blackburn and Wigan all consider firming up their interest.

The Northern Ireland international has only six months left on his contract at Blackpool, although there is an option to extend it for a further year.
The former Manchester United youngster joined Blackpool in 2018 on a free transfer after leaving Scottish Premiership giants Rangers and he has impressed during his time at Bloomfield Road.

Thompson has appeared 18 times for Blackpool this season, scoring one goal and registering one assist in the process.
The central midfielder’s efforts have helped Simon Grayson’s side sit 10th in League One ahead of travelling to face Rotherham on New Year’s Day.

Alan Nixon has tweeted that we are interested in Sheffield Wednesday centre back, Jordon Thorniley, on loan as there are doubts over both Henneghan's and Tilt's futures at Blackpool!

For all this Grayson didn’t get a window thing... he hasn’t really had much in success with who he brought in... he keeps talking about this is last years team but he’s brought players in that have either been cack or not reached the team...

SG has bought players in , but the team has a lot of changes to contend with, empty stadium for yonks to what we have now and whilst ti should lift them they have also been coached to play a certain way, The stands generally seem to think we will rach the PO's minimum and that will lead to some bearing on play. Jay goes looking for the ball to much and with the players we have he should learn to trust them a little more. Im now expecting no more than top ten with a serious charge next season unless of course we have some miraculous window. Tilt can go, who really cares a late starter with an obvious attitude. Heneghan is a must sign to build that solid back line with youth on their side.

Championship sides Luton, Wigan and Blackburn Rovers are chasing a move for Sheffield United defender Ben Heneghan this month, Football Insider understands.

The 26-year-old is currently on loan at League One side Blackpool and has been a mainstay for the Tangerines, playing 18 times in the third tier of English football this term.

A source at Sheffield United has told Football Insider that the centre-back is now in demand from Championship sides after his performances this season, his loan spell at Bloomfield Road set to expire on the 14th January.

So it looks like Henneghan will also go elsewhere. If Tilt goes as well, we will need 2 more central defenders as well as Thorniley

Given the time players take to bed in it looks like we are now building for next season. Mildly disappointing but fine by me in the bigger scheme of things,

All gone pear shaped with the current lot. Sorry for sounding harsh, but I will be glad to see the back of Tilt and Tumble Thompson. Spearing has a big heart and leadership qualities but thats about all he does have apart from being very predictable. Thanks for your efforts, but no room for sentiment, needs a clear out along with the rest of the dead wood if we are to progress. Too many not lived up to their billing. Been a learning curve at least.

Blackpool and Lincoln want to sign forgotten man Jack Hendry on loan from Celtic.
The English One League outfit are both on the trail of the Scotland international.

The 24-year-old is keen to get back playing after falling off the radar under Neil Lennon.
Pool and Lincoln have both been alerted and are keen to land him in deals for the rest of the season.
Bolton Wanderers are also interested but they are marooned at the bottom of League One after just coming out of administration and a transfer embargo at the start of the season.

Luton manager has denied any interest in Henneghan. Alan Nixon claims that Rovers and Wigan also not interested in him.
