Football Media 21/22

Just seen the televised matches for the League Cup. Do they feature the current holders and winners for the last 4 years? Of course not.

JoMU and the dippers matches are the ones on tv. Of course they are.

I think you could have put your shirt on it.

Well done on the play on words. :giggle:
Most people would be delighted to live in a place where you can hear and see sheep.
What a spoilt tosser.
C has no tolerance for people who don’t like sheep. 😀 It has to be a miserable life if that sort of stuff bothers you.

Thursday morning……BBC radio sports bulletin refers to “Manchester City’s £100m record signing Jack Grealish scored in their Champion’s League victory…..’ etc.

When Chelsea’s result was reported the previous morning after Lusaka had scored …….zero mention of their record signing’s price tag.

Funny that.

This is the unconscious bias that constantly leaks into what appears to be ‘generic’ reporting but which consistently links only one club which the perception of excessive spending.

BBC appear to have written us off already.

TV sports bulletin this lunchtime covered Chelsea’s win and stated they were joint top of the table with LiverpoolTMFailed and with JoMU in third the muppet actually said….

“Five games into the season could we be looking at the main title contenders”
FFS. Talk about Short fecking memories. Geez. Conveniently forgotten just how far behind City were after twelve games last season and how big the final margin was It seems. Goodness me.

Now last season may not be repeatable but FFS get a grip BBC - defining the title race after 5 matches is a bit shallow even for your mediocre talents. :guns:

I guess it's time to secure our Europa League place then.

From the Athletic - this is 75% or so of the piece.

Jarred Gillett will become the first overseas official to referee a Premier League fixture when he takes charge of Watford against Newcastle United on Saturday.

The Australian was promoted to the FA’s Select Group 1 at the end of last season, allowing him to officiate Premier League matches from the start of the 2021-22 campaign.

Gillett spent nine years as a referee in his native Australia before moving to the UK in 2019, then becoming an EFL referee as he undertook research at the Liverpool John Moores University.

The 34-year-old went viral during his final A-League fixture, with his microphone audio publicly broadcast during Melbourne Victory’s win over Brisbane Roar. Fans were able to hear his communications with players and the VAR throughout the match, leading to calls for more match officials’ audio to be made public.

Gillett has since overseen matches in all three of the EFL’s divisions, with most of those coming in the Championship.

So . ..anyone else see the seeds of a concerted red-supporting media campaign here?

This is one of two articles in this source which is hyping up the supporters v Pep row, trying to keep the pot boiling and drive a wedge between him and the fans. The other one comments on the potential for a small crowd at the Etihad tonight.

Seems to me they want to keep this sh*t being stirred.:censor:
