Kefkat, It isnt alot of vouchers as it could be stored on a computer database and a swipe style card used by those on benefits. Like Debit card/loyalty card.
How many shoppers do you think have a Tesco clubcard all over the UK? All those customers are stored on a database and Tescos know exactly what each customer buys (big brother style)..
If supermarkets can monitor their customers, offer them points, coupons based on what they buy etc, im sure the government could use a similar system to monitor people on benefits. You also say 0.5% fiddle the system. In other words 99.5% of all benefits are genuine people not wasting state money on illegal drugs for instance? The system is so corrupt even those with stats dont know what they are monitoring. We have single mothers using money for their children on alcohol and drugs. = Is that right? Is that mother included in your 0.5%?

The amount fiddled in benefits is small fry compared with that fiddled by politicians and bankers. Then take into account that owned in taxes by companies and celebrities etc

Kat my message wasnt aimed at you. I was replying to Heathfield that the diagnosis can be difficult in a young age and that the childs mood swings will play a part on how it is diagnosed. Many doctors have said that it may be over diagnosed in children..
I am not for one minute saying your son is not Bipolar and I do feel for you.

Previous posts on here would indicate otherwise.
Why not be proud that we provide more for our less fortunate than most?

And I am saying that mood swings alone would not lead a Doctor to diagnose Bi Polar. Your own post lists a number of factors, and it takes a specialist to finally asses the patient, not a GP. By the time somebody is diagnosed they have usually been through many years of uncertainty and trauma.
Mental health ssues have to be taken more seriously. You can't just dismiss them.
