Knobble them overnight when you don't need oil don't you.
Basically, I'm theorising that the war in Afghanistan led the Americans to fund the shale oil revolution and then the electric car/renewable energy industry to cut funding to Islamic terrorist groups.
But if oil is all they have doesnt taking it away just push these oil rich nations into the hands of energy rich nations such as Russia and China. It's been my argument all along, supporting alternative energy sources. It takes away power from these oil nations.
the 'renewables' are currently fairly intensive on the mineral side -
which brings it own problems but the processing is dominated already by the Chinese esp for batteries.
Suspect there'll be a proxy war somewhere before too long between the US and China over resources.

Not really a good outcome for the west.
No sorry didnt post that very well.If there is no market for oil, let them have it.

The countries that will suffer are those that are in the middle east, and these countries are strategically important to the world shipping lanes, and historically flash points.
The likes of Russia and China, that are seeking to gain influence in that part of the world will find a ready made audience for their overtures, to gain a major presence in the region.
Do you think that countries such as Egypt that have large oil and natural gas reserves and still derive a large amount of foriegn currency and investement from the west will not become flash points due to their control of the Suez Canal.I suspect that when the balance tips on oil, the Middle East will revert to the irrelevant backwater it was before oil became big business.
I'd expect that the world's attention is going to shift to Africa since it will soon be the only region of the world with a growing population.

Its ironic that Africa has a growing population, because it cant feed itself and is one of the main drivers behind large scale migration that is causing so many problems in the west.
It is however owned by The Suez Canal Co, that is a wholly owned Egytian company, that is completely state owned.I think the western control of the Suez is so complete that nobody can touch it.

Good point BB.And guess who owns Egypt?
And guess who owns Egypt?
Yeh Trek, I posted that a while back and then got battered with comments about air quality, so stand by.We in UK are responsible for less than 1% of the CO2 , China 27%. What are
Hydrogen is the motive power of the future. It will fuel the trucks and haulage operations.
Electric aeroplanes are simply not viable for anything other than short range, they will remain oil fired as will cruise ships which are massively more polluting than aircraft.
We in UK are responsible for less than 1% of the CO2 , China 27%. What are the Extinction Rebellion nutters saying about that? Oh, nothing as their daddies are doing too much business in China.
So on that basis the stuff that the US, China and India are chucking out will be with us for the next ninety years even if they do cut back, which looks unlikely despite promises. The problem is, you're just quoting current CO2 levels. Historic levels are almost entirely down to Europe and the US. CO2 persists for 90 years.
