Bundesliga and Brexit

Only about 34% of the electorate....fewer if you include UK citizens living overseas.....actually voted to leave. In countries like Switzerland, where referendums are a part of their political system, it is normal to require at least 60% voting for a policy before it is adopted, especially on such a massively importance issue as this.

Yet fewer than 34% voted to remain. It was a simple choice, leave or stay. Those were the rules, not requiring a certain percentage. Those abstaining have only themselves to blame if they weren't happy with the outcome. A question was asked, an answer given and so it's incumbent on May to ensure it's acted upon. Her proposal is neither one or the other.

It may not be one or the other but once the shackles are broken the chains will soon be off.
May won't be there long after we gain our freedom then that will lead to our independence.
Just got to keep the crazy three out of office.

Fair play to Theresa May for sticking to her guns and not bottling it, at least she isn't like some of the lily livered parasites we've had in power.

Apart from having the referendum in the first place, that was the biggest mistake that "Dodgy Dave" Cameron made. A referendum on such an important issue should never just be first to 50%, there should always be a minimum % say 55 or 60. But no, he missed that and then walked off into the sunset humming to himself and thinking "Well, f**K you then I'll be OK with my vast fortune whatever happens"

In any other country 34% would not be enough for such a monumental decision.

52% For, 48% Against. Seems fair enough to me, you still get three points whether you win 1-0 or 8-0.

It was actually less than 52% and more than 48%. With due respect we are not talking about a game of football. Polls now suggest that the vote would be 54% remain, 46% leave or abstain. People ( not you, obviously) are a bit more informed now. For instance, Wales and Cornwall would now vote remain. They've realised how much EU money comes back in the form of grants and subsidies. The North West also benefits from EU money. especially Liverpool and Manchester. That money will no longer be available.

What the heck do you think it is...the Soviet Union? Independence from what? Freedom from what?

Yet in ours it was, so the result should be respected. I'm surprised May hasn't got an arched back given the amount of ankle grabbing she's clearly done in the last 18 months. Given the terms she's agreed to, as opposed to negotiated, I'm surprised you aren't championing it given it means we remain more in than out.

That money will be replaced by the money we no longer have to give to the Eu when we leave!People keep going on about the money we get,Other Eu countries get the same yet 21 of them pay in a fraction of the money we pay in! it is a corrupt ,abused system and we along with France and Germany are on the receiving end!!

we wouldn't of had a referendum had it not been dodgy Dave Bering shit scared of UKIP he pinched their policy in an attempt to get rid of them once and for all they were being a constant threat in some parts of the country to the Tories.

he then had to go to the country for an referendum believing he would win all the polls were pointing in his favour the smug smile was on his chops along with Gideon and then it all went wrong He quit and left the country divided that mon has a lot to answer for

The aim is to raise the economic growth of smaller economies...like Portugal. Then, once they've caught up to the big fish, they will have the ability to spend more and produce more, so the whole EU benefits. Countries with large agricultural sectors, like France, benefit because they receive CAP subsidies. The aim is to make agriculture as efficient as possible. If you have food you don't tend to get wars or revolutions.

Remember, the EU is about PEACE and PROSPERITY. By countries collaborating and working together they make more efficient use of resources, and become more prosperous. Britain has been able to exploit the resources of its colonies in the past. That is no longer possible!

I think it is a bad deal, because we lose our influence in the EU e.g. no members in the Parliament or Commission. In the past, we've had a big say in the decision-making.

Portugal joined the Eu 32 years ago! How long do they want to leech off the bigger economies? The answer is as long as possible! This is the reason they and the other leeches are worried about Brexit,if other "Feeder" countries follow suit their gravy train will be kaput! And i know this as i lived there for 20 years!!

If they had not been in it, like Spain, it is likely that they would have been much worse off, though. It is easy to be cynical, but the EU project has a lot of good principles underlying it.

The money paid in is tiny compared to the size of our GDP. That 39 billion is an accumulation over a number of years. Do you really believe that a Tory Government would replace the EU grants that we'll be losing out on? ........Not likely in these days of austerity.

heers a stat i herd the other day. 28 countrys pay into the eu. 18 get paid back more than they put in were subsidizing more than half of europe.

Both are wrong tho....2 wrongs n all that. Do you honestly believe that if Corbyn n his cronies get in they wouldn't fill their pockets ( directly or indirectly)....
