Summer transfer thread

Good to hear that all kids and coach are now rescued. 3 British divers leading, supported amongst others by Aussie divers and specialist doctor who checked all the kids in the cave in each case before they were taken out.

There's more to life than football.
:agree:

Great news & great effort by all, shame about the local diver who lost his life trying to save the others!

Bit disappointed Mendes didn’t throw Ronnie our way instead of Juventus :( Mind you at 33 on a 4 year contract a lot of people on here would be fuming :D

He comes with decent pedigree but after just signing Pantillimon I really don’t get it.

Maybe he is an upgrade and maybe the deal is too good to turn down but personally I am happy with Pantillimon and think we have more important areas of the pitch to strengthen.

This just does not make sense, unless we are being used to inflate his transfer value.

We will never keep two keepers of that stature happy.

Kapino started yesterdays friendly, with Smith finishing the game; I would guess that AK is playing the guys who have featured during training, with Pantillimon ready to step in against Betis.

Being intimated elsewhere that the rules on emergency loans, which allow clubs to sign keepers outside of the window, has been abolished.

The same guy thinks that Smith is off out on loan and Kapino is off once he has another club, hence the need for cover.

Seems a very expensive way of going about things

Mental if that comes about, we have a decent keeper and back up, and for that sort of money as well can't be true surely.

Would imagine transfer market will speed up as the wc comes to an end. Good job we are half finished already. Let's hope Randall and co can get the rest done.

Odd signing if true, not quite sure why he'd want to come (money aside) anyway. DCM is our most pressing need - assuming that is we still get Bryam.
Disagree. A top keeper at this level could save us points and also proves that we are planning for life in the top flight. 10 mill could prove to be a bargain.

It could (and that's a big could as adapting to the Championship is no given) but given our limited financial resources and FFP limitations, coupled with having just signed a first choice keeper and having another we need to develop, this feels a waste especially when we've more obvious holes in the squad.
