Apparently, when local rival Hearts fans heard that the Hibs fans were voting for SJM they started to vote big time for the vote that was closest to him ( Forestieri, Sheff Wed) to stop John winning hence why it was so close.

A bit small minded but that's local rivalry for you and it's the same everywhere.
