Summer Transfer Rumours Thread

Everton are close to agreeing terms on a deal with Blackpool that would see Beni Baningime spend the season on loan with the League One club.

Baningime has two years left on his contract at Goodison and has been told he can spend next season away from the club.

Blackpool, managed by former Liverpool under-23s boss Neil Critchley, want the 21-year-old midfielder and talks are at an advanced stage.

Baningime was part of the first-team set-up at Everton following the Premier League's re-start in June but did not feature in any of the final nine games of the season.

The Academy product has been hampered by injury over the past couple of seasons but is back to full fitness and eyeing an uninterrupted campaign in the Football League next term.

Baningime has played 12 times for the Blues' first-team, getting his break during the 2017-18 season when David Unsworth took caretaker charge of the club following Ronald Koeman's sacking.

The midfielder was also used on a handful of occasions by Sam Allardyce later in that season

Everton have accepted an offer from Blackpool to take midfielder Beni Baningime on loan next season, Football Insider can reveal.

This site broke the news exclusively earlier this week that the two north-west clubs were in talks over a temporary move.

An Everton source has told Football Insider that Blackpool have now had a bid accepted for Baningime in which they will pay a loan fee and a portion of his wages to sign him for the season.

The DR Congo youngster, 21, is expected to make the move to the League One outfit from Goodison Park next week.

Everton have decided to let Baningime go to free up space on their wage bill as well as give him the chance to play regular senior football.

That was denied him in the 2019-20 campaign when he stayed on Merseyside after a 2019 move to Danish club Brondby collapsed at the eleventh hour.

The central midfielder did not make a single senior appearance for Everton in the recently-completed season.

This site revealed in June that Ancelotti would listen to offers for Baningime this summer despite the strong impression he has made in training.

He was a regular in the matchday squad after the lockdown and was on the bench for eight of the last nine Premier League matches of the season.

That ex Utd kid keeper has been chased down twice now, not for me I'm afraid.
If you are on trial and you make an error, you don't make the same error again in your next match.

Rumour on Avftt that Jerome Opoku was at the club today. He was on loan at Accy last season from Fulham, where he had been the under 23 captain. 21 year old left footed centre back / left back. Over 6ft 4ins tall

Hope they sign him so we don’t have another summer of he’s coming back/no he isn’t, he’s too old/he will sign and we need him/we need to move on etc.

Unless he is prepared to take £1.5k a week plus a big bonus for promotion then I don't see how they could afford him with the cap

Could one get round the cap by paying a modest wage to him as a player and a hefty whack as a coach? Where there is a rule there is a Cummings.
