I am not sure HK is the type of player Pep wants or needs, he might as well as bring in Ed Dzeko for the short term, but we never played to ED style until we were in trouble, but he could find the net on occasion.

I think Pep will be looking for someone much younger and someone he who is not quite there yet but has room for improvement.

I think the Messi thing is smoke and mirrors, with loads of papers saying he will snub City, but for City this would have been a commercial adventure in shirt sales and possibly a boost to the NYCFC in the long term.

There have been names winging about and City are usually good at keeping their options close unless it is the agent of the player who wants an auction.

The thing is, some of the hottest prospects with room for improvement are also established strikers - Mbappe and Haaland.

Do we think City will go for one of these (if they have the opportunity), or are we looking elsewhere?

I think you have picked out the one I think he will try for Haaland, but to put other clubs off the scent leaks might be put about regarding other players.
 
We will be looking for a young striker on the way up at a fair price I think. The two above will both cost a Kings ransom. If we can repeat what has happened with our #3 all will be well. We also need a #1 LB I think, Blue Mendy is still not right, just hope he can get back to how he was a couple of years ago.

I agree with both points.

Much as we would all love Haaland, I can't see us paying the huge fee; it's not what we do!

So, the question is, 'who?'.

Personally, I quite like the look of Maxi Gomez.

I would agree, but a chance to play with his mate, at City, Barca, or PSG would be a big draw for Kun.

Fair enough, but bringing Messi at this late stage of his career to City, plus with a massive salary could have negative impacts on all our other stars, so I would rather he did not come to be honest.
