Poch getting ready for the off?

But he had already won the Cup Winners Cup and proved his worth. Poch ain't done a thing.

Wow well as Liverpool have lost this is now a pressure situation now historically we do not do well in those kinds of situations. We have to win the last 2 games or we are out the ECL. Can't believe Pochettino has let us end up here. This won't happen but can I ask if Liverpool finished 5 but one the champions league what happens.

Top 4 and Liverpool would all be in next seasons CL.

It comes to something when our season comes down to Newcastle being shit in one game and brilliant in the next!

The way we have been playing in the last couple of months, I would have to disagree with you. Newcastle's performances are crucial.

Nick, add a loss to bottom of the table West Brom plus getting dumbed out of the FA Cup and CL. We have not been good for a while now.

And 4 points will do it yes.

Will someone else do the math please ? Will a win and draw be enough ?

Yes, but theoretically no. If our win is 1-0, they’d need to win their last two games with a goal difference of +10 or better.

Our last 5 matches:

L D L W L

Conte’s last 5:

W W W W W

I wonder if Roman would be sitting on his hands doing nothing while Poch lead his team from a ten point lead to 5th place ?

He would sack him now and hope for a new manager bounce rather than wait for this loser to cost him millions through either his ineptitude
or disloyalty.

None of really knows what, if anything, is happening behind the scenes at the club. What those of us without long-term, rose-tinted glasses can see is that the team is performing badly and the manager seems powerless to change that.

Looking at individual players, we can all see that Kane is playing when he shouldn't be due to form, maybe because of golden boot, maybe avoiding further injury to go to the world cup. Dier and Alli maybe doing the same, and maybe Son as well desperate to play in a competition that could allow him to miss National service at home. Add in the wantaways and the team ethic could be seriously undermined. A shot of Moura on the bench looking thoroughly peed off also speaks to team selection issues.

The fall-out from not qualifying for the CL next season in the new stadium could be immense for Levy, Pochetino, the players (that stay) and the fans. On the other hand, qualification could spark a drive to a new level, although that would require significant investment.

We need to see how the chips fall before making major decisions as to how we as fans view the future but the club is at a significant crossroad with much depending on the next two games.

Even when we were consistently getting top four a little nagging doubt remained. It mostly revolved around the performance in must win games. We win even the league cup in that time we move on a level. It also revolves around close scrutiny of Pochettino mentor Beielsa. His vaunted system that we mimic has won nothing in European club football. The problem we have is who the hell replaces him?

Genuine question, isn’t the Beielsa method that used by Barcelona and Pep’s City, only implemented properly?

As regards a replacement, given the constraints on spending, I’d go for Eddie Howe.
