The bigger picture is Bruce yes made a few things wrong...the thing is we start with a half new team agn in loans...no spine in the team nothing stable in the team...fact...loans juggling Fp rules...loan out to loan in...every year half a team to gel agn...look at the teams in this league...been there a long time...how many players they got in...half a team...tryed to rush this league and you can't..just to get back in prem....never work ..whoever in charge...then try and rebuild with a bit more money from prem...not a chance...decide 2 yrs ..get a spine in the team and keep them..add to them...how it's done...

I genuinely do wonder if Bruce left the squad in such an utter shambles because with the new owners he knew he’d be off soon and leaving the defence as it was would either provide a good enough excuse for him to be given more time, or if he was sacked make it impossible for the next guy to do “better” than he did

The problem is we only have one real CB thanks to the departing manager it is the cause of his demise you can motivate the rest but
not if your trying to play RBs or midfield players at CH That is not about motivation its about stupidity ,

Try looking deeper than what Bruce did 5 years ago you pratts. Look at the FACT that we have one regular centre back . Read it again....
Aston Villa football club have ONE specialist centre back .

Oh we have a loanee who no one including him knows if he can play there, a career midfielder who keeps being told he can play there and a couple of u23 players that good enough or not have never set foot on a first team pitch.

It's become abundantly clear that Mr 4 promotions has fucked us for at least another 2 transfer windows.

We are facing a relegation scrap .
It's a shambles.
 
Unless we bring in a free agent (still don't know why we haven't) then we'll have to make do with what we have until January.

Our only hope is the new guy getting it right in the attacking third, and using the vast firepower we have at our disposal.

When we're all over the place defensively and creating fuck all up front we're in big trouble.

I think virtually everyone knew we needed a central defender back in June when Terry left but instead he weakened the position by sending Elphick away. I just can’t see a rational explanation for the way he left it

Funny thing is we ARE only 3 points off the playoffs. However, 9 off the top 2 isn't so hot. We are where we are, managerless and with a shambles of a team left us by Mr 4 promotions. Good players, lousy team. Bruce repeats his Sunderland act.

No point in getting too upset about it. I suspect the new managerial team has been lined up for a bit. Lets hope they're the business, and can get us into actually looking like a team and moving up the table.

Haven't the faintest how long this will take. I'd be optimistic but for the appalling defence. We may or may not have a crack at promotion this year; again, I wouldn't be too concerned about this. It's far more important to develop a quality team, without that there is no future.

Who was the captain today?

Knowing the absolute shit show that is this club, there probably is no recall option in the contract.

But just maybe he had been thinking of coming back and let him down...maybe he had others lined up to come...he had his hand tied with us in the shit skint...do you really think him being a great defender in his time would have done that...Dr no money etc...what could he do at the time..loan out to get money to get in...too late by the time they took over..fp rules etc..i aint a Bruce hater or lover....at home..pay the leccy bill or the council tax...we was in the shit...dr gambled last year and nearly came off...ya have to see it both ways...

Has to be Big Sam if we want minimal risk . Someone like Henry would be a total risk and car crash imho
 
Batten down the hatches there's a shitstorm approaching......... relegation battle with a squad full of overpaid pussies with no backbone and no decent central defenders.

Stabilized my arse......... Said it before, we are an easy touch where average players become way too comfortable. Too many on good money not playing, young players given no chance etc etc etc.

Fucking good luck to whoever takes us on.
 
Same shit different week. Looked like a 4-4-1-1 to me but Grealish is playing too deep. Tammy up top on his own is a complete waste. We played some alright stuff in the first half but only in spells, in this league against poor opposition we need to play a good hour not the odd 10 mins.

Nyland - kicking is a atrocious. During the warm up he let one through his legs (again) and dropped a corner when the whistle blew. No one has any confidence him in, let alone himself.

Elmo - shite

Grealish - he needs to go for his own development. The boy needs a proper coach. Don’t get me wrong on a five a side pitch he’d be your first pick but in this division just move the ball, recycle it quickly and be the option again. I love simple football but he just frustrates me and didn’t play the position we needed him to.

Bolasie - needs to start.

Jimmy Danger - nothing danger about him, not interested.

Felt like it was getting a bit ugly at the end between Hutton and the fans. We have a couple of weak players in Elmo, Bree, Taylor and Nyland which the other 7 have to compensate for and it doesn’t work.
