Some big score lines last night in the bigger teams favour, hopefully we can’t upset the apple cart - unfortunately I’m on shift.

Anything can happen. Just a bit of a shame that some of our new players will not experience what it is like to be roared on by a full house at Sincil Bank. Perhaps some spectators will be allowed into the ground when we play Arsenal.

Was just thinking this. Judging by how last night went we could see a very high scoring game. Fingers crossed we are on the right side of it, but it could quite easily go wrong if we concede early.

Early enough in the season for most of the “bigger” teams not to be overly concerned about their league positions, or to have too many injuries. Quite a few will see the Cup as a chance for silverware. Pleased that City are still involved in this round. An unlikely chance of glory but who knows? First goal is vital.

I think a lot will depend on the strength of the Liverpool team, though even a very young side would be tough with the talent they undoubtedly have. If it’s a much stronger side and that’s what their assistant manager hinted at in the press conference, it could be a pasting. However, a certain ex manager did say to never be afraid of being in a situation you have created and earned. It’s a dream for us to have had numerous high profile cup games over the last few seasons after a barren run of playing cow paddle fc (and often losing!)

Hoping for a very good and spirited Imps performance, would be great if we could score a goal or two and for the gulf between us not be so obvious.

As others have mentioned - including MA - not having a full stadium of Imps roaring the team on works against us in this game.

I think we'll see a semi-strong Liverpool team.

But the lads will learn from this whatever the result and as a footballer, surely these are the days you live for?

Im wearing my magic pants today. I acquired them that first season the Cowleys took over as managers. My word they have been very successfulI, im convinced they really work. I was thinking of donating them to the clubs trophy cabinet when they have become too raggy to wear. I have to be selective when i wear them nowadays as they are getting a bit thin in places. Expect a 20% boost to our luck tonight. Up the Imps

yes, “impossible is just an opinion”

Woke up feeling decidedly flat, when I should be buzzing for a fixture such as this? I'm sure I'll be okay by the time kick-off comes around or when the teamsheet is released on Twitter ... I will won't I? :please:

Agreed on the first points. This completion is its various guises has provided a few nights to remember at Sincil Bank - Derby, Stoke, Man City, Everton. Home to the league champions is the match of a lifetime and deserves a full and noisy ground.

Sadly not to be, nor unfortunately if we do progress, it will be empty next week too.

Still excited even if it is via a tv screen. UTI!!!

Undoubtedly we lose that extra advantage we have for away sides coming to SB without the backing of the crowd. I watched some of the MK Dons game back with home commentary and they mentioned last seasons visit and how intimidating we make it when we play at home.

The Everton atmosphere in the cup(s) were amazing, it’s sad we probably won’t be able to get anywhere near that again this whole season.

I am not feeling flat and infact am buzzing with relish and excitement for tonight. Of course it is sad that supporters won't be at the Bank and it would have been great to have the stadium rocking. However, it is what it is , or as App would say its one of them where we make the most of it,and I would not miss it for the world. At least I can watch it from the comfort of my sofa, cider in hand. As an imps supporters for approaching 60 years now I continue to enjoy the ride.
