Vital 1st Team Regular
On what evidence would our youngsters surpass the ability of our current set of regulars if only they were picked ahead of them?
The evidence can only manifest if we play our best three or four youngsters. Playing them must be on the basis of looking at skill set and potential. If you`re happy that the majority of, or all of, the current first team is so high that our better young guys cannot surpass it, then fine, you carry on.
Potential is there for all to see. We have some talented young players who will get better; we have some average senior professionals who, with respect, are unlikely to get much better.
One thing for sure, do nothing and we continue on the slippery slide. I`ts disappointing that some have so little faith in the ability, commitment and potential of our young guys.
So there is no evidence to show that the current crop of youths have the talent to go beyond the talents of the current first teamers? Aside from Oldaker who we've seen enough of then who are these other three to four players?
Mbo who except for a 2 minute cameo to waste time has only been loaned out to clubs at a level suggesting he isn't near the first team?
Or do you mean people like Simpson, Chapman or Tucker who have only represented the club in the Premier League U23 trophy?
Bradley Stephenson has played a few more minutes admittedly.
The basis of your argument is that we might as well play them.as they cannot be any worse.
For the record, on an individual by individual basis I think most of our squad is good enough and the issue is more down to the way Lovell makes of those players and the way we are set up.
