I hate what the world is becoming

I have my mortgage with the Halifax and they are the biggest pieces of shit I have ever come across.
2 years ago I had a leeter from them saying I had paid more interest than I should have done. Asked them for the money back as it was over £2k to be told no it will come off at the end of the mortgage term.
3 months ago I queried my monthly payment as I thought it was incorrect. Spoke to somebody in Asia at their call centre who told me I was correct and gave me a lower figure. A few weeks ago I received a letter from them saying I was now in arrears and that if I didn't bring my mortgage up to date, they would take me to court to repossess my house. Luckily I had the money so I paid it.
Just had another letter warning me about my behaviour on the telephone call saying that if I continue to dare question them again that I will be banned from calling them.
This is the company by the way that claim they have lost my original offer letter as I am pretty certain they have charged me the wrong interest rate for many years.

You could go to the FOS or whatever they are called now mate. Would be a punt, but if you can prove what you posted above I see a pretty A thru = D argument.

And just a word of warning. Was just waiting for the mrs insurance pay out for writing her car off. They agreed to pay a certain amount. Fine. All agreed.
Then no money paid??? Strange. So mrs rang back... they were trying to get out of paying the money due to its last MOT one of the tyres was an advisory. They were saying if it was below legal then they would not be able to pay. Thankfully we had all tyres replaced in january. But mrs had to contact garage for their records to forward to company. Then on top they still wanted photo proof from the garage where it is that the tyres were legal.
Thank god we got new tyres.
So any advisorys on your mot make sure you get resolved because insurance wont pay out if its not fixed!

Name and shame Bud, name and shame.

Its a case of you pays your money and takes your chance with insurers.
I spent most of my working life in insurance, mostly investement side, but also General, motor, home etc.
Huge variations between the claims attitudes of some of the companies.
I hadnt had a claim in over forty years until the car was stolen 2018 when I came up to Brum for a Villa game.
I had took a punt with Quote me Happy, a totally online insurer and must admit I was concerned re the payout.
They made a fair offer after ten days, but having worked in insurance for so long I turned it down, just to see if there was a bit more in it.
There wasnt, but the appeals process took another three weeks.
Imagine my surprise when the payment was made into the bank and there was a £173 interest payment on top of the claim, because the appeal had taken three weeks to sort out, and they thought it was poor service.

I have done mate, but all they did was said nothing could be done about it.
Did FOS raise a complaint with the bank? If not have you raised an official complaint? As per the FCA a complaint is any expression of dissatisfaction so the bank really should have put through their complaints process. If none of this has happened you should call them up and make an official complaint. Quite often banks will offer you a benefit of doubt payment in order to get the complaint off their desk and ensure it's cleared with it's SLA.

I have mate, it's now with my solicitor as it was just going backwards and forwards.

Sooooo. Had an interesting day at a shopping outlet. Went clarkes village in somerset. Weird set up as the outlet was split into 3 and you had to que to get into each bit... one in one out.
So cut a long story short... i got split up from the mrs, got lost and had to que to get back. No issue.
During queing the security guard was called to an emergency and asked for our que to use our heads and follow 1 in 1 out. No issue.
So i was near the front. A bloke and his teenager walked out. So 2 went through. Then same bloke came back walking past the que. A woman behind me asked him to que... to which he responded a ratty response and that he has family in there so he WILL be walking in....
NOT ON MY WATCH BOY!
I dropped my shopping and stood in his way and demanded he went to the back of the que.
He honestly thought he had the right to que jump because he only left for a few minutes.
In my responses i was asked to leave the premises by a worker which i refused until he joined the que.
Security was called and 2 security guards escorted me off site. But i was congratulated by the people who were in the que behind me, but they didnt seem to take their view on board either.
Dont know why i bother.

So been working with under cover cops this week. They have been looking for a professional thief who earns about 1000 a day doing trolley dashes.
Theve been in all week but had a tip off she would be in today.
11am i get the nod that she is in store.
When the arrest came it ended up being a woman i knew of but in a nice way. Had good banter with her....
And her disguise... a wig... and always dressed up as an nhs member of staff. Right down to the fake id and nhs tabbard.
I felt like a gullable twit all day. She had me hook line and sinker.
Shame because she doesnt tick any thief box and not a horrible woman. The opposite in fact. She came and apologised to me while being escorted off by uniformed officers so she must have had some guilt. Shame how shes chosen that path really.
Ended up giving her a hug and asking her to make changes because theres a good woman in there.... apparently her partner pulls the strings but still no excuse.
Shame.
But just goes to show the 'professional' thieves are bloody good at what they do. I had zero idea and would never ever ever have thought it was her they were after.
