The report seems to not include any UK biomass or energy from waste burning/generation which has become quite significant now, and is a bigger carbon producer than coal.
The bottom line is that the UK decided to stop generating enough electricity to maintain the UK grid....they just outsourced it to Europe.
It is misleading to suggest that the interconnectors between the UK and Europe just connect to French Nuclear Power Stations, they don't. They connect to a grid system in Europe that still heavily depends on coal and gas generation. Splitting that out to individual generating types is virtually impossible.
As with many of these 'reports' it is just media bullshit, ignore the facts if it doesn't meet the narrative......sort of an Environmental VAR.
