Brexit rolls on...

You mean I know more than the Guardian left wing re-write version of what the LSE say. Go on then quote the facts. How many top brains have LEFT the UK since Brexit. I'm always open to some facts, rather than the Remain version of a Brexit that hasn't even been implemented yet.

Interesting that on the more reasonable Brexit thread we were told planes wouldn't fly, and this would hit the UK. I said they will fly, and even if they didn't it would actually benefit our own tourist trade. Now many are not flying for totally different reasons, it hasn't taken Spain long to start moaning about their loss of tourist income.
There you go. http://personal.lse.ac.uk/sampsont/TradeLivingStandards.pdf
You leave yourself very vulnerable with your head in the sand you know old stick.

I'm struggling to understand this one for a few reasons:

Firstly, the UK has been the beneficiary of 'draining brains' from the poorer countries for decades.

Secondly, you want to live in a continent of free movement and 'internationalism' but complain when the 'brains' leave Britain. Why?

Finally, I thought that the British wouldn't be able to move outside the UK anymore.

I'm sure other countries will have no problems taking our most specialised experts. I don't think anyone imagined otherwise. It's just the rest of us that you have voted to take the rights away from.

I think in an ideal world you would want a country in which the best and the brightest can go anywhere else they want but choose not to.

You might want to ask yourself why, in your sunlit uplands of Brexit, these kinds of people actually want to play their trades elsewhere

You have clearly not sufficiently waited to see the outcome. If you care to have a look at the much more reasonable thread in offtopic where Lienking debates with and agrees exclusively with himself, you would recognise that everything is rosy and you cannot say it isn't until it isn't. And then somehow it still will be because some other country will be worse

At least I have faith in the uk, unlike some of the people on here who believe one of the richest countries in the World is an "industrial wasteland". The Remainers have decided that Brexit is a failure, then congratulate themselves for being right, when they can't even wait to see what happens. They just seem to thrive on forecasting doom for everything.

If you read the off topic thread you would actually realise there are people (FECO and ITTO) who actually seem capable of proper debate, rather than some of the people on this thread who seem to come from the world of bullying, which they should be ashamed of.

You have faith?

Oh well we'll be alright then

Non of us who know Brexit is a failure `want it to happen so we can say we told you so

Do you think us trying to stop this shit show are doing it for personal gain?

I don't

I do it because I care about my family, friends, work colleagues the place we call home

You are right Lienking.

I just don't believe in the UK enough. Maybe because people like you have run it into the ground for the last 30 years

These wonderful, magical posters... Not one of them agrees with you do they?

Erasmus is going to end after 2020 for the UK

Sad
That's a good thing.

It's indoctrination not education. A recent EU Commission audit does not mention educational value at all, concentrating on participants’ feelings towards the EU.

Good riddance.

The UK received just €62 million for higher education grants under Erasmus in 2017 (the latest year for which figures are available). A minuscule sum.
Only 9.5k students used Erasmus to study abroad in that time. That’s just 0.51% of UK students! Yet 18.5k non-UK students used it to study in the UK (nearly twice as many). Pro-rata by population, the UK should be 11% of the total Erasmus student numbers; It's 4.3%
Four of the top five countries for UK students studying abroad are English-speaking nations. According to UN figures, more UK students go to the US and Australia than the rest of the EU combined. That's because they can't be arsed to learn another language.

That's because it is very poorly advertised in the UK

I'm sure you agree with Cummings that to have a true fascist state, we should remove fantastic opportunities like this and replace them with schemes that concentrate on a right wing education

Cultural exchange is always valuable in its own right, and international students undeniably make a positive contribution to the UK in many different respects, not all of which can be enumerated.
