The great big short Summer Transfer and "What the hell do we do now" Thread

His stock would have gone down on any pay deal he would be looking for. Im not saying we are elite, but where else will he get 30+k per week and play in front of a world wide audience? I doubt many teams would touch him here with the exception of maybe derby. Hes going to end up at some shit Polish team being jeered by ultras and dreaming of life back in the UK

He will be dreaming of vowels. Let the side that he moves to not even contain a single vowel in their name!

When it comes to transfers , we go for foreign players and players at our level or above. How many players have we brought in recently from the leagues below us ? Who have we had since BA ?

We need to decide if we want Grosicki at that price and/ or Knockhaert. If others do well we may not need either. Save a bit of money.

players progress and improve, or maybe vardy should have stayed in league 6?

walkers scored more than grabz this season for relegation favs. In the Championship Good for me ive a side bet he will do

There is an interview with Gary Brazil in today's Athletic; he talks about the Academy with great pride, as you would expect.

He talks about the constant battle with other Clubs when it comes to attracting young talent, and how that is even more difficult now that Leicester have built a £100m Youth set up at Seagrave, just North of Leicester.

However, there was one throw away remark which will have the experts on here foaming at the mouth:

“We have players in every position, who have come through the ranks here. And there are some really good players who are still here now. But we have to make sure that we keep bringing them through; let’s create some more. Brennan and Alex are players we are very excited about. Ryan (Yates) will be a big, big player. Some people might not see it yet. But he will.”

And there was even something which will please Plummer:

"Amid the new responsibilities that Brazil will take on, the one that stood out as most interesting when his new broader role was announced, was “contributing to the club’s philosophy”.

“From our point of view we are very clear about what we are, at the academy,” says Brazil. “Going forward it is really important for us that we are able to communicate; that we are able to sit down and talk with Chris about what that player looks like, who he wants in his team. As we have gone historically from manager to manager, the philosophy hasn’t particularly stayed the same. We want to get an identity.

“We want somebody to be able to say, ‘This is us, this is what we are’. I was keen on being part of the process; of being able to talk about it — because it is something we have done within the academy. Being involved in that philosophical discussion is something that is really close to my heart. The manager is the manager, he will always dictate that. But as we move forward, we want to grow something; we want to be able to say, ‘That is how Nottingham Forest play football’.
