Race Issues/Riots/Protests/BLM

I remember we spoke about south Asian racism during the BLM marches which I argued and many agreed, the worst racism I’ve seen between Hindus and Muslims Pakistanis. Many factors in there I guess politically and geographically which I wouldn’t understand.

I also didn’t realise until not that long ago the amount of racism between Indian Indians (who are about 9 in 10 people from our IT department) and the British Asians who make up probably 30-40% of our Finance department. I’m good friends with a lot of British Asians, they share our sense of humour and are happy to socialise with white Brits (generally). But I do think there is a long way to go on this front and I don’t agree with every way they sometimes act. It can get awkward when you have a mixture of Indians and Pakistanis in a team, who literally won’t talk to each other.

I also used to date a British Asian years ago at uni, her sister was dating a black guy and she wasn’t far off being disowned by the older family. You wouldn’t even joke about that as a white person, but that still happens.

It’s probably a time thing, but it feels very behind where Britain is on the racism curve when you get down into the different cultures.

. Have to say I found it quite amusing to hear an immigrant complaining about too much immigration.

I find it amusing our foreign secretaries all seem to be close descendants of immigrants these days, and are the most hostile to immigrants out of anyone.

A lot of older Asians voted for Brexit too, which was ultimately an emotional vote about immigration.

To be frank, all of the anti-racism stuff is exclusive to the US and Western Europe.

There was a post that went viral by an older Pakistani gentleman, he basically said it was white, middle class people trying to justify problems which weren’t there. I’ll try and find it if I can

The middle classes with all their pretentious bullshit have a lot to answer for.

This is tenuously linked to race issues. Mark Lawrenson is complaining in the press this morning that BBC have sacked him because he is white, 65, and male. He probably has a point, but he could also add to the list that he is a sarcastic, ignorant, arrogant individual who was very poor at his job, and was very lucky to survive the years that he did. He wont be missed.

I have seen a fair bit on this kicking off in Leicester and it spreading to Smethwick.
Some saying that 20 of the ones arrested were not even from Leics . 5 were from Brum.
Its all being fired up by the lies on social stuff again. One was a claim that a Mosque had been damaged by Hindus then another saying a young Hindu girl had been kidnapped by Muslims.
This is exactly what happened in Handsworth and Lozells all those years ago.
The problem is its now being reported in Pakistan and India and the danger is it will spread to other places.

I never understood why he ever got asked to come back. One of the worst pundits ever. I like many of the newer generation. They actually have something constructive to say.

In fairness, there are big racial problems in the US. Sorry, there are big class issues in the US but they don't have the vocabulary for it so the issues get framed as racial.

Britain also has big class issues but they are framed correctly.

The anti-racist stuff in Britain seems to be SJWs posturing on the internet and organisations like the PL trying to look like they care about anything other than money.

perfect example above of what is wrong with this country nowadays. You say anything slightly patriotic or try and defend the country and you are accussed of racism. Woke ***** have and continue to ruin this country. I AM NOT A RACIST but i will defend my country.

I've never seen anybody vilified for being patriotic. Can you give me an example of what you actually said?

well I 'll miss him lol, I thought his dry wit was hilarious.

Come and visit my area. Honestly you would think you're in Eastern Europe. They've already taken over here.

And? There are more areas where white gangs prevail.

The UK was built on inclusion. You won't be able to find many that aren't descended from immigrants.

Politicians have messed it all up, i admit. The policy has been to settle all immigrants from similar backgrounds together, creating ghettos. I have said many times, they should have been spread out more evenly across the country, and been allowed to integrate more. It's not their fault. They are just looking for a better life.

It's easy to have that attitude when you live where you do. Try not being able to walk in certain areas of your own town just because you're British. Try being bullied at work by East Europeans and when you report it being told to fuck off and get to work by the East European management whose only intention is to get to a full 100% East European workforce. Try working a 10 hour shift around people that refuse to speak English and make it obvious they're talking about you in their mother tongue.

This is the England my kids have to put up with on a daily basis and we are fools for letting this happen.

Again, I posted my views on how this became a problem.

The people to blame are our dopey politicians.

I don’t mean to cause offence here, but in my experience of covid from a very small sample, the young Asian community seem quite quick to fire around things on WhatsApp, Facebook etc which are misleading, inaccurate or just not true.
