Pardew No Longer Infesting NUFC - Official

Watching the bookies odds can mean nowt as much as it means something but Rafa Benitez has came from nowhere to be amongst the favourites, Tony Pullis's odds have extended and Frank de Boer has dropped from 25/1 a few short hours ago to be 7/4 now.

Steve Bruce at 16's is the one to watch but Beardsley is an outside bet at 33's and Kinnear 40/1

Pardew still lives in Surrey and is only in the toon 4 days a wee, apparently. It would make sense to take the Palace job in that context and after the Everton win he can say he has left the club in a better position than he found it. Points wise he's right unfortunately. Mind you he has quite a few unwanted records as well. Fuck off Pardew and take Carver, Stone and Bearsdley with you.

Well Bruce would be the obvious choice, he's done what he always does at a club, goes through a good patch then turns them into average/relegation shite. For an ambitious owner like Ashley that would be fitting.

Steve Bruce's management style goes against everything that Ashleys ownership style strives for.

Bruce has always been in the middle bracket of clubs and has always gambled on big name middle bracket players.

His management style is of someone playing the first few circuits of Monopoly and snapping up anything they can get their holds on whether it fits a long term plan or not.

Why would Pardew leave a secure job here and chance his luck at Palace ? He knows he is onto a winner here as long as Ashley owns the club, unless he knows something we don't and his feathering his nest before Ashley hoys everything north of the border.

Money and closer to home spring to mind for me.
Fair point, but no security at Palace if recent events are anything to go by.He is secure here and he knows it.

All this talk of why Pardew would leave newcastle because of the resources available to him...
He doesn't get to spend anything so that's hardly a deterrent.
Pretty sure Palaces net spend is probably more than ours.

Security is overrated though SL. He won't get a pay off or a pay rise here but he will get a pay off anywhere else and he'll believe there are enough people fooled by his efforts up here and enough smaller clubs willing to gamble on someone who works on a shoestring and likely pay more than we are now....for less grief. Ching ching.

Wonder where he's off to?

He looks like he's trying to blag his way into a Salvation Army hostel, for a Christmas dinner, in that photo..

Personally I thought if Pardew goes that Carver will get the job until the Summer but ive been told by a couple of people (not in the know by any means) that they've heard that Coloccini would get the nod.

A strange one if true.

He's a useless fucking captain. What makes anybody think he would make a decent manager. Didn't he recommend we sign that Ferrerya or what ever you call the fucker.

Colo ruled out by Lee Ryder as he hasn't got the 'right' badges. Personally, I think he could just borrow Pardew's 'I love Mike' one and bluff it

Colo might be a good shout. Huge gamble. But might be worth it until end of season?
The Fererrya Colo story is nonsense. If Ashley doesn't listen to Pardew on signings he's hardly going to listen to Colo.
I reckon possibly the loan deal was done as a 'favour' to agents ala Xisco and Gonzales deals as the player wanted out of Russia asap. The favour will benefit us at some stage I'm sure.

Coloccini could only do 12 weeks without the right badges but I still see Carver as taking over, maybe Colo would be his no 2.

That said, we know there'll be no plan B and we'll be guessing for months or just making it up as we go along.

Alan Pardew is poised to be appointed as the new Crystal Palace manager with a £2million compensation clause thrashed out between the south London club and Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley.

Pardew has made clear to Ashley he wants to go to Palace where he was a former playing favourite and the Toon chief has agreed to reach a compromise with Eagles chief Steve Parrish rather than demand the full £5million he would be entitled to under the terms of Pardew's contract.

Here's the link to TF's story.

When something seems too good to be true it usually isn't.

I'm braced for the bad news..
