Only in America...

Let's be absolutely clear, no-one is going to take a lesson on democracy from the US when its own seat of government was invaded by far-right anti-democratic forces intent on over-turning a fair election as recently as 6th January 2021.

Normally Biden is reserved for satire and ridicule on my part. However it really isn't funny that this lame imposter of a President, hides in Camp David avoiding questions as Kabul burns.

He did manage to read the autocue for a few minutes of course, before scuttling back there without taking questions.

Question for Biden - Is he coming out of hiding any time soon, to take responsibility and sort his mess out.

Shame on the US and shame on Biden. He creates the mother of all routs in retreat from Afghanistan, and completely ignores all requests from several 'allied' countries to try and extend the operation to save more lives.

He continues to skulk, occasionally showing his face to gurn, grin, make flippant comments and fiddle with his clipboard before scuttling off again without taking questions. It's not a laughing matter Biden, you are responsible for the betrayal of the Afghans that trusted the US, and their inevitable deaths to come.

A truly vile human being who like Blair and Bush is going to have an awful lot of blood on his hands.

I think you'll find that Trump is the originator of this retreat, which isn't to say it hasn't been a complete clusterf**k (hint imperial / colonial withdrawals almost always are) but the strategy to deal with the Taliban (including agreeing to release Taliban prisoners as part of that deal) is all Trumps

It’s the brain dead monotony with which they keep making these mistakes (ably assisted by their British lapdogs) that’s the biggest tragedy isn’t it? They’ve learnt nothing from Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq…..the list goes on depending on how far you want to go back…..

The much-maligned "Red" Ed Miliband kept us out of Libya, thank fuck. But, you know, he couldn't eat a bacon sandwich properly.

Trump most definitely did agree to the withdrawal of troops; probably one of the few things that both presidents wanted to do and could actually agree on.

However the manner, organisation and implementation of the withdrawal is completely another thing and entirely down to Biden alone and on his watch. Biden only adds to the injurious manner of the circumstances by his weak, uncaring, dismissive and couldn't care less attitude.

Ironically Biden saw the withdrawal as an opportunity to boost his mid term election chances which by all accounts are tanking. How typically cynical of a career politician to try and exploit such a situation for political gain, and how unsurprising that it should blow up in his face. Don't take my word for it, as his mate Obama once said:
“Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f**k things up.”

No the manner, organisation and implementation of the retreat is down to the various defence organisations involved. Policy is set by the politicians, implementation is set by those organisations directed by the politicians...

It is Biden's job to ensure that the defence organisations have the resources and infrastructure to do their job properly. It is Biden's responsibility to liaise meaningfully before and during the operation with his allies, so they know what is happening and how it could impact on them. When it goes SNAFU the buck stops with him and it is HIS duty to step forward, explain what he is going to do to rectify the mess.

He has failed on all counts. On the rare occasions he has appeared to read his auto cue, he has either been in denial or dismissed the whole crisis in a flippant and derisory manner. His behaviour has been disgusting and unempathetic at best.

His only mitigation is that it seems he is in serious cognitive decline and probably cannot process the complex information required. That does not excuse his handlers who should be there to pick up the slack when he is unable to do so.

NEWSFLASH - TRUMP HAS NOT BEEN PRESIDENT FOR ALMOST A YEAR

While I think about it this kind of makes my point as to who takes responsibility -

Commander in Chief, President. The Constitution (Article II, section 2) specifies that “The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several states, when called into the actual Service of the United States.”

Don't listen to or engage with Hulloutpost. He's a fucking idiot.

Trump sowed much of what is happening today in February 2020 - the 'deal' made in Qatar sold the country and the Afghan people down the river and handed over guaranteed chaos to whoever came next in the White House. He set this thing rolling.

That said, it is undeniable that Biden has a lot to answer for. The nature of his withdrawal order has greatly contributed to the chaos and the pathetic, tragic scenes that we are seeing on our TVs.

PS I know people in Kabul. They are waiting for the knock on the door. Do you know who they blame? The Taliban. For being utter fucking *****.
