There was a lot less "fucking around at the back today" I assume MA took one look at the pitch and said "Not today.."
I noticed that. Palmer mostly kicked long. Good management.

He rarely names and opposition players even though he has a team sheet in front of him ."As an aside, I have to say Michael Hortin time and again got the Lincoln players wrong. He sometimes gets one or two players wrong per game but he did it countless times today, even giving one of Johnson’s goals to Grant. Sorry Michael but you really should know our own players by now."
I have to agree about Hortin. Can we include him in the player performance marking? If so, he would struggle to get a "1" today. Absolutely appalling and should not be allowed back on air until he either starts to do some preparation, or visits an optician.
Other than that - what a difference in the same 11 who underperformed against Shrewsbury compared to today. I was one who thought MA should make changes, but MA has proved he knows more than me yet again. :)
Superb display.
Very wise, the pitch was appalling, ball bobbling all over. Probably why the Cobblers kept it in the air. There was a lot less "fucking around at the back today" I assume MA took one look at the pitch and said "Not today.."
Does it mean that if we go into a lengthy lockdown and pro sport is cancelled again, that we will have to tolerate Championship football next season (a la Wycombe)?MA referenced the pitch in his post-match interview.
That's a decent defensive record away from home now? 1 goal in 6? 7?
How on earth can he confuse Grant and Johnson? They look nothing alike. "Winging it" is the right term; you can tell he does zero research on the opposition as he just refers to them by their short number.I ignored Hortin. When the guy constantly calls Mark Hone "Thommo" you know he has become far too comfortable with things and just winging it. When he congratulates Johnson for tracking back when it is Grant and has been a 15 sec passage of play it is a little embarrassing as "colour blind" is no excuse there.
Especially since Hull's Boxing Day game with Sunderland has been postponed. After ten days off, they should be pretty fresh. To be fair we have played more ‘difficult’ sides at home. The only top 8 away game was the defeat at Doncaster. the hull game will be an interesting test for our away record.
1 in the last 7 away league games (Doncaster).MA referenced the pitch in his post-match interview.

No, but perhaps an overlooked part of our game is the distribution from Palmer. Long or short, thrown or kicked he seems to pass the ball rather than lumping it up for someone to challenge for.
Well front my whiskers, thank you.Looking at the current table, if it all stopped now, then points per game and the final positions would look like this,
Played Points PpG
1. Lincoln 18 35 1.9444
2. Doncaster 17 33 1.9411
3. Hull 18 34 1.8888
4. Accrington 16 30 1.875
5. Charlton 17 31 1.8235
6. Portsmouth 19 35 1.8421
7. Peterborough 18 32 1.7777
8. Ipswich 18 32 1.7777
9. Sunderland 17 28 1.647
10. Crewe 19 29 1.5263
Which would mean we would go up as Champions, on 3 thousandths of a point over Doncaster, and Peterborough, Ipswich and Sunderland would miss out on the Play-offs.
Happy Christmas.
Home to the Gooners!Well front my whiskers, thank you.

Strangely Northampton did it when I was a lad, 4th div to 1st div and then straight back down in successive seasons if I remember correctly. That would be insane.
