"I've got a feeling we will claim the last playoff spot." (Who Are Ya?):

"I thought yourselves, Bury and Notts County would be there or thereabouts, so Notts County is a shock. I've got a feeling we will claim the last playoff spot."

10am in the Valleys and it's currently not raining but very windy. Forecast for this afternoon is encouraging.

Club records

** A win at Newport today would set a new club record for away wins in the Football League: the current record is 12, set in 1947-48 and equalled this season.

** A win would also equal the club record of 13 away wins in a league season, set in 1908-09 (Midland League) and 2016-17 (National League).

** A win will also set a new club record for points away from home in a season, which currently stands at 44 in 2016-17. City currently have 42, which is already a new club record for a Football League season.

** If City avoid defeat today, it will equal the club record for fewest away defeats in a season in the Football League (4). The record was set in 1947-48 (Third Division North, but only 21 games) and 1975-76 (23 games).

Goals

** Harry Anderson needs three goals to reach double figures for the season. Harry has now gone 19 games without a goal, so well overdue.

** John Akinde needs two to reach double figures from open play, and one penalty to reach double figures from the spot.

** Akinde also needs three more to become the 36th City player to score 20 in a season; it would be the 44th time any City player has reached that milestone.

** Matt Rhead still requires one more for that elusive 50th goal. That also seems overdue - he hasn't scored in 19 games either, although many of those were late cameos from the bench. He will become only the 27th City player to reach 50.

** The only current outfield players who have yet to score this season are James Brown, Jordan Roberts and Lee Angol.

Just setting off on what is normally a pleasant drive through the Wye valley and Monmouthshire from the Midlands. Very windy where I am but dry so hopefully the worst of the storm will be passed.
Those on here enjoy your day which will I'm sure be quite relaxed and chilled irrespective of the result

Has Danny said anything about our possible starting XI today? Would be nice to see a few of the peripheral players get their chance, as well as some of the usual suspects get a well-deserved rest.

For some reason, I am expecting a fantastic performance today as the pressure is off and the lads will be playing freely and energetically without that worry on their shoulders.

Being crowned champions may well bring out a champions' game!

Come on you Imps............
