Match Thread: Lincoln City v Morecambe

Game of two halves again, outstanding first half. Great opening goal and free kick by Shackell for the third. Could have been 4 up had Akinde laid the ball off to one of the posse of Imps waiting, when his first shot was blocked during his one on one with the keeper.
Second half a bit meh, but no worries, another 3 points and top.
 
Can't blame any of them for the second half performance in such horrific conditions. Got the job done by half time, nice for Anderson to get a confidence boosting goal and Akinde deserved one for his effort. As for Jason Shackell, is there nothing the man can't do?? Not just a top class defender but a free kick specialist as well!
 
How about this:

In 2016-17, we had 43 points after 21 games.

This season, we have 44 from 21.

Given that Cowley teams generally get better over the course of a season...
 
Shackell's free-kick was a genuine "Netbuster". Not sure there's a 'keeper in the country that could have stopped it.

Great game by Harry - my MoM. Ran their defence absolutely ragged and a nice finish after his late arrival in the box for his goal.

Akinde-Beast-Penalty also had a good game, winning plenty of balls up-front and holding it up well. Penalty was nicely taken.

When you're 3-0 up at half-time, the chances are it's foot-off-the-gas time, and so it proved.

Top of the table, my friends, top of the table.
 
Any idea who was doing some running a ball work at half time with Luke jelly.

Didn’t look like any of the name subs to me but as my eyes had froze over I might be wrong.

Could it be a new signing training with us until january

I recorded Big John's penaly on my phone. When we got the free kick I jokinly said to young Riiiiik "three - nil". Wish I'd recorded it now too. Can't wait to see the playback tonight.

A bit Meh? Three points in the bag and playing against the elements The second half was pretty much as I anticipated it would be .No complaints

No complaints from me either. I'd be happy if all our games were done and dusted by half-time. Just pointing out the first half was more entertaining than the second. (y)
 
Proper winter football loved it
Looked like a mauling was on the cards
Big John is getting better by the game and creating his own chances
Harry Anderson was like a dog chasing a tennis ball they even doubled up in him but he was too much
Busy Xmas and new year on and off the pitch
