Match Thread: Lincoln City v Cambridge United

I know it sounds silly but I thought that Cambridge actually wasn't that awful. It's just us creating and scoring for fun at the moment.

Great performance. At times we were in total control which was very pleasing to see. I knew once they will try to go for it and leave us some space we might kill them which was exactly what happened.

Special mention to Moylan who started his Imps career with a proper bang. 👏👏

Pure pleasure to watch this side at the moment. Great night.

Well what can you say after that performance. Positive aggressive attacking football with the lads reaping the rewards. An incredible few days and very lucky to have been to both games. It’s almost impossible to single any individual out, the teamwork has been that good. Bring in the Gas on Sat. Can’t wait. UTI 👊💥💥💥💥💥💥👏

Fantastic. Running power superb, and pressing to win the ball was phenomenal. Cambridge average age must be significantly higher than ours, but they couldn’t handle the pace and intensity.

Some great performances, however Eraharon what a player. He could quite easily be our first 1.0m footballer.

My thoughts too, at times Cambridge moved the ball quickly and well - but we just steam rollered them, the number of times one of their players was hunted by down by packs of 3, the intensity was phenomenal.

I wonder how many away fans previously had the pleasure?

That sure is a long while since the last 6-0

Makama played well when he had to come on. If you watch him closely he has some really good touches of the ball, whether it is holding it up or passing it straight on. I thought he was going to close down their goalkeeper a couple of times from what I think was a stupid kick-off?!?

His movement wasn't bad either. Put him in a side looking to play forward with purpose and with confidence and he looks the decent prospect he showed glimpses of in his hard but by many unappreciated work when he was basically the only fit striker we had.

Correct, that has been his skill set for quite some time. He looks better because we are no longer lumping it aimlessly in the general direction of a channel for him to run into, or towards him for a heading duel with nobody else within 20 yards of him - not his skill set.

Get it into his feet, his chest, and get players around him like tonight and he will continue do just fine.

Don't think we will have scored 11 goals in such a short time since we put 13 past Crewe 70-odd years ago.
Wishful thinking by some of the later posters (re consecutive games)

I think we had Barnet (5) and Swindon (7) in consecutive games in 2006/07.

I've already shown my memory to be faulty but didn't we once put six past a star-studded Fulham in the old Second Division days?
