JoMU - the state they are in

Manchester United have agreed a three-year deal for Erik ten Hag to become their next manager with the move now “99 per cent” completed.

An announcement is planned next week, following the Dutch Cup Final on Sunday, that the 52-year-old is taking over at Old Trafford. The deal will have the option, weighted in United’s favour, for a fourth year. All that appears missing is the final signatures but they are clearly believed to be a formality.

Sources close to the negotiations have told Telegraph Sport the paperwork is going through to complete the move and confidently added that “everything is now agreed”.

Eric the Red…….we will see what he can do with that motley crew. Let’s hope they are just as disruptive and unwilling to change.

Their memories are so short and clouded by the seemingly endless years of winning since the start of the PL era. Too many do not recall the struggles before Taggart after the Busby successes. They also cannot recall just how close Taggart sailed to being sacked with only the Mark Robins goal against Forest in the FA Cup saving him. I will be amazed if they have the stomach for a further period of waiting for Erik to get things sorted out.

Well I hope not if he continues to deliver such monumentally underwhelming performances on the pitch and causes this much discontent within their dressing room  Seems like a fine asset to have in their midst I would say.

I could see this sort of offer being made given the disconnect between the latest interim-interim coach and the money types they have running things.

Manchester United have announced the appointment of Erik ten Hag as the club’s new manager.

The 52-year-old Dutchman has signed a three-year contract until June 2025 with the option of another 12 months and will become United’s fifth permanent manager in nine years following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November. The deal is subject to Ten Hag being granted a work visa.

Well that is totally unexpected
Just as any subsequent announcements about the gazillions they intend to spend in support of their new manager will be reported as “investing in the club“ rather than ‘ruining football’. That’s only us that do that.

So Erik the Red it is, he can't fail to have a major clean out, but will he turn the ship around, I hope not.
I read he will have £200m to spend on player acquisitions In the summer.
In this day and age that’s peanuts. Of course he’ll have player sales money but they’ll be lucky to get anything from the shower of shite that is the current squad.

Based on past performances of Dutch coaches Erik the Red will probably not do too well, he asked for Steve M as an assistant, was refused by his new masters, and yet still came, amazing.

He was also interviewed for the Spurs job last year but Conte go the job, I think he is a Pep lookalike and that is why the rags got him and £200m on top of their already heavy debt, but perhaps they are the only club able to spend that much and still stay within whatever they are calling it now
