Who on here has said you can't have a view on the transfer window ?
Two players in in two and half weeks and that's a failure is it ?
No-one has a crystal ball to see if Howe will be a success or failure but much like the owners he's trying his best having been left a mess of a club. The club are trying again man. After not trying for over a decade. You seem to just think that can be undone with a big bag of cash. Newsflash !! It can't . It takes an infrastructure, it takes time, and years of investment in scouting, coaching, facilities, business partnerships , revenue streams etc etc. We're not Liverpool before Klopp came in or Manchester City before Guardiola. Norwich have a better infrastructure than us, as do Leeds, Sheffield United, Bournemouth, Fulham and half the Championship. We've been run by a despot (Ashley), his chief bitch (Charnley), a number cruncher (Barnes) a has been/never was football manager (Bruce) and a rubbish p.r. guru (Bishop). There's literally (barring Nickson and a handful of a scouts/back office and coaching staff) no one from the previous regime to have handed things over. Then you have the players the vast majority of which are players we've all said aren't good enough and were part of the side that came out of the Championship.
We may go down and with the vagaries of football it make take far longer to sort out than anyone has anticipated and they may not be able to do so, but there are people at the club who want to do well. Think about that. There's an ambition again. Not to just survive or take as much cash as they can but (if they're to be believed and I've seen no reason to doubt them as of yet) to make our club one of the leading lights of the European game. Now of course they have their own agendas for doing so, yes, sportswashing, and morally there's a lot of conflict regarding that, but we've a club again not a glorified advert for a low cost sports retailer. Maybe I'm being naive but I'd expect someone who was watching Newcastle United from the early 60's on to have a more grounded and balanced view of events.
