Here we go!

And i think we will see trading get up to speed again now that the EU have got past the inevitable outrage period.

  • Our exports to the European Union would collapse.
  • There would be shortages of fresh vegetables at Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
  • Factories would close as supply chains seized up, and we would be plunged into a deep recession.
  • Leaving the single market would inflict catastrophic damage on the British economy.
Not only were all those predictions wrong, but comically they were wrong on a scale that has seldom been witnessed before.

Add to that the venom and hatred displayed by the EU's terrible leadership has surely convinced all but the most infatuated fanboy that leaving was the right decision.

There's the problem. The media.

There was no place on politics shows for reasonable conversations about Brexit; Just two sets of idiots (usually all tories) screaming bollocks at each other. If the media had covered the proper conversations, the whole thing wouldn't have been so divisive.

  • They have and may continue tp

  • There would be shortages of fresh vegetables at Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
  • There are starting to be shortages and supermarkets without fresh food, its a fact. Because of the lorry driver shortage.

  • Factories would close as supply chains seized up, and we would be plunged into a deep recession.
  • Through various reasons the country is in massive debt, the worst in our life times by far. How all this money is paid back, if its able to, cos it has to come from public purse will dictate whether there is a recession or not. Thats still to be seen

Its catastrophic to everyone who is losing money, to suggest that there arent many businesses screwed and losing money would be just stupid.

clearly not lolz and also it was suggested it would cause shit in Ireland

Wages are up too, this is because, and prepare to hold onto your hats folks for this shattering news: The supply of cheap labour, which suppressed wages for years, is no longer there, so people get paid more. Economics 101.
Hospitality wages up by as much 14%
Yet another Brexit bonus remainers ignored at the time.

Ok mr strettononics 101 how do businesses pay for higher wages? Pretty sure there is a word for that.

Its all connected you know.

Yes then we got infinitely better once we joined

Now we have left we are rapidly going backwards because you decided to believe in unicorns and mermaids

You Britain haters have fucked this country

More accurately, we joined and developed a huge range of services that were well used and general economic trading activity increased. We have now given this up to pivot towards asia.

The politicians loved it though, it became a big competition for them. They invested so much that they had to follow thru imo

On Tuesday Ursula formally hands over hundreds of billions of Euro’s to Italy as part of the recovery fund. 1 in 4 have no employment in Italy. The lowest education level in EU and very few administrators to deliver and police funding. Funding has to be spent by 2026 or returned to Brussels. In the past 30% of funding has been returned because lack of admin and systems. This in turn has led to corruption. Watch the mafia grow and the right strengthen positions.

Not good news is it. If there is trouble on the continent it will reach us eventually.

Well Italy have to manage the money and the situation as they are a sovereign nation their problems are not caused or exacerbated by being in the EU

The EU is trying to help them

It is the same in our country all the problems that we faced are due to our govt's but the big lie, helped by the media, made easy targets like you believe the problems were created by or because of the EU

Embarrassing

All sovereign nations when facing dire employment and production problems would devalue their currency. Italy can’t do that because of Euro. Germany is so financially dominant. The problem was created by a single currency but no governmental control. PIGS will all struggle in about two years time. Bonds will come under pressure.

Again the problems caused are not because of the EU or Germany, stop it!
You are part of the blame culture cultivated by years of Media manipulation and successive right govts over the last 40 years

The EU has a lot to answer for but in this particular discussion I wasn’t putting any responsibility for Italy’s sovereignty problem on the EU or Germany. Read the post again.

Having worked across the EU I still subscribe to many European papers and am very unlikely to fall for the British media barons message. I can make my own mind up from experience. I am proud to be part of the culture that brings the politicians practice to be put under the spotlight. Unions are being sidelined throughout Europe as basic workers rights, fought for over decades are minimised. The plague of endless cheap Labour has to be tackled.

Do you mean workers rights are eroding in UK? cos thats where its the real concern.
As for tackling cheap labour, do you think thats a person thing? Like immigration thing? Cos obviously it isn't, the issue is literally down to one thing, companies not paying enough wages.
One day the public may latch onto the benefits of non profit enterprises and maybe we will see more of them. That way can have the same produce but with better wages and local invesment. Of course there are losers too, the minority wealthier ones, the shareholders who wont be getting a new ferrari every month.

When I visited Sicily a couple of years' ago, there were stories from the locals that EU funds which were directed through Rome, to be distributed to Sicily for regeneration, was tendered out to construction firms. Guess who owns most of the construction firms in Sicily?
Needless to say, the work rarely got started, let alone completed.
