Good Morning Thread

Got the Plasterer in all week. Another week of chaos coming up.

Oh I should start looking for a job really. My money tree is running out. Lol
I love having the plasterers in . They do a brilliant job and transform the house immediately.
In a couple of days everything looks different , all the crap has been sorted out , the walls are new , and look fantastic and I love watching as they change colour as they dry .
Then you get back to the blank canvas .
Brilliant .
In an instant , the house is yours .

Maybe you ought to get a job as well !!! Just to be on the safe side .

I can't stand the artex ceilings. Has to be smooth.

Yeah had a fitness job lined up but the manager lied about hours ect so back to square one.

Will go self employed again once things settle down but impossible at the moment.

Did a hike to Brent Knoll today. Even more stunning up there than the Cheddar Gorge.

14 degrees with clear skys, perfect hiking weather.

Been ripping up the shitty old carpets this weekend. Piss stains on the floor boards, toe nails and bogeys were found.

What sort of **** do you need to be to live like that?

I was livid. Lol
RD my oppo n his wife had the same issue about 10 years ago, he was so bloody angry with his findings, and his missus bless her couldn't stop crying, I did at least 4 dump runs, using my Truck, for them with crap carpets/furniture etc and garden waste.
Thus the same question as you was asked.

There gaff is now beautiful, as yours will be, with your own slant/mark on it.

Not many for this trip. We don't plan on going much more than 2-3 hours towing this travel trailer. This trip was roughly 120 miles to our destination. Stayed two nights and returned this morning.

We are not sure the camping life is for us yet...so taking it slow. More trips to follow...after I get a couple things fixed.
USA, good on ya, it will be "Carry on Camping" lol!

Afternoon all, weather wise the Sun has got his hat on, lovely n warm, is it the start of Summer? certainly hope so.

Before I went up the Ville to meet a couple of oppo's, I heard the great news, JM sacking, but of course I knew about this Super League thing, so not that happy, any how's the amount of smiley faces that was about shocked me, so many Spurs fans, I knew there was a lot of us but not that many lol!

Nothing new to report, except all is well in PompeyYids household, esp Mrs PY she is the best I have seen/known for a while now.

Keep ya chins up, smiles on ya boats, but mainly stay keeping safe.

Good morning all , sun is shining , robins are following me wherever I turn over the soil on the allotment , bees are emerging from the bee hotel in the garden , apple blossom and plum blossom bursting out , bulbs are poking their heads out from their beds , patio doors open all day , heating turned off at last , nowhere to park on the seafront , sitting outside for a pint , walking along the sea shore and marvelling at how clear the water is , now the liners are not coming past every five minutes , queues outside the ice cream parlours , every unsocially distanced table taken by people sitting in the sun , dripping their latest ice cream creation on the floor between their legs , ASDA selling the old fashioned deck chairs , piles and piles of self lighting bbq burner sticks and super charcoal lumps , having to walk in between the displays of shiny gas burning latest design Barbecue units , Lidl ‘s selling Mediterranean lemon trees , trying to find the last of the old sun cream we didn’t use last year and putting sun cream on the shopping list , putting the gazebo up in the garden , and forgetting where I’ve put the flowery bunting I carefully took down and folded up last year , cutting up wood from the garage to burn in the chimera, the wood that I always said would come in handy, this is the chimera that we have had for six years and never used !

,
And ..................... no Mourhino !!!

Aint it all luvverly .

Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine , take care , look after each other, ....now more than ever ...., have a good day and here’s to a free spirit in the team , .........and flat ceilings in the lounge .

I ‘kin love it .

Afternoon all, gone all cloudy down up this way, weaver gal did say that yesterday, there is a slight Northerly breeze, but otherwise tickety boo!

Have got Mrs PY panicking, all worried, fluttering about cos of me, I went up the Ville this morning to do the odd chore and have a cuppa with a couple of oppo's, all very good.

Afterwards set off for my 10 to 12 min walk home, after about 100yds I nearly went arse over tit, my right knee just gave way with a shock of a pain in it, so stood for a mo, deep breath and all that, and set off hobbling home, so bleedin slow a 70+ year old with a walking stick overtook me lol! finally got home after crossing a number of roads, bloody pain in the knee was and still is killing me, welcomed in by Mrs PY, with her arms everywhere, like she is signally a plane to land lol!, questions 10 to the dozen, what you done, wassup etc, quick explanation of what happened more hand waving, shaking of head, retorts, that's because of all the abuse the knees have taken over all them years of Power Lifting, quite possibly true I said but added don't forget the Military long treks with 80lbs on my back + arms/kit, Football n Rugby lol! she wasn't best pleased I can tell ya.

In all my experience I have no idea what's wrong, do not think its a muscle problem, I think it is the knee joint in general, gonna give it 24 hrs then ring for an appointment with the physio I use.
Haha one of her oppos has just brought a crutch round, bless her and her mate.

Yesterday an oppo and his missus came round, tea n coffee in the garden, made Mrs PY's day, they stayed for about 4hrs, great afternoon.

Well we got the Scum of the South tonight, looking forward to Spurs playing anti- Moaninio football without any worries, a win for me, oh yes a couple of Hobgobblin Ruby beers are there ready.

Cheers all keep your heads up smiling, happy days are upon us, keep yourselves and your kin n friends safe.

Worth a watch, Patrick Moore is one of the founders of Greenpeace:

The above is 38 minutes of your life that will balance your thinking. And believe me, on this subject balance is sorely needed.

80 excellent...for years I have been saying similar (not eloquently and not based on all the data Mr Moore has at his fingertips, but as a result of my studying Geography Biology and my main degree Geology at uni, I have always held the view that the earth goes through cycles over tens of millions of years and this current situation is not an emergency/issue. It is man made falasy IMO.

Yes the earths climate has and will always change.....but not this scaremongering doom that is happening now.

I must admit I did not know about the amount of CO2 crustaceans removed from the environment but can see why Mr Moore stated in time we will have to have CO2 generation quotas to ensure life on earth.

Mr Moore has vindicated many of my thoughts and I can stand prouder against my friends and colleagues and associates who are climate change biggots ....thanks for this! If you want to invest there is the place to do so CO2 generation factories...not that you will live to be part of that revolution!

You know which side of the argument I stand on...Mr Moore's 100%

I have always and will continue to believe the changing of the earth's climate has nothing to do with man.

This Paris Agreement rubbish is such a waste of tax payers money, lining the pockets of those shallow minded idiots.

Does my head in.

I've been travelling to the same part of the Great Barrier Reef since 1984 at the same time each year. I've watched the weather change from brilliant blue skies, no wind and stinking hot to cloudy, windy and cooler during that time. The weather I used to experience is now happening 4 months later in that region.

Weather has been changing and revolving for millions of years and we aint gonna stop it.

I’m convinced that stone age man and his campfires reversed the ice age . , I mean , it would wouldn’t it .
Stands to reason . !!! All that heat they were pumping into the atmosphere!
I’m with you here Hod .

I agree 100% with Moore n Greavsie, and others of course, it is Mother Nature, this Man made Climate change is a load of Bollix, it is being used to make £billions simple as that, ok we are not helping cutting down the Earths Lungs, South American rain forests, by the football pitch hourly.

Query....Who melted the Ice Age!
Was it that Squirrel chasing his nut at speed.
Walt blames early stone age man for the beginning of this crises, you forgot to add their 4x4's lol!

There is a lot of effort and big money going into discrediting Patrick Moore. The first video I posted from PBS tells a short version of his side of the departure from Greenpeace. Geoblocked in the UK I think.

He has said nothing very inflammatory when it comes to his assertions.

He acknowledges we are in a warming trend

He acknowledges that we have contributed to higher Co2 levels

What he does is put those two facts into the context of the life and cycles and history of the planet as well as its position relative to the sun over time.

What he does well is make a lucid argument about the conclusions that have been arrived at by corporatized green movements and are assumed in today’s fact-light world.

The greening of the planet flies in the face of all popular theories.

The recovery of many animal populations is ignored.

The fact that overall the human population is trending toward being in a negative growth stage is ignored.

Moore's openly hostile attitude toward money-spinning charitable “save the world from humans” organizations is understandable. Who in their right mind would be anti- human.

While there is no doubt we are polluting this world and we absolutely have to deal with that, scaring our children with catastrophic unsubstantiated outcomes is criminal.

That is what he is fighting with facts. And for that he has my respect.
I would also suggest watching Seaspiracy on Netflix. While it is not a scientific treatment of a subject there are some interesting facts that ocome out of it.

Good afternoon all you peasants lol!

Weather oh so beautifully sun shining, love it.

My knee is a lot better today, think it is a sprain, but bloody hell it hurt yesterday, after a nights sleep keeping the leg straight, I got up this morning 100% better, could walk on it though with a slight straight leg limp, I have found keep walking, exercising it if you like is the best, its mainly when I sit down then stand up its at its worst.
Mrs PY is like a mother hen! I said leave it and what would my life be like if I had you ailment? answer from me Hell! lol! wrapped up in cotton wool.

Any way went up the VIlle for a cuppa with a couple of oppo's, Spurs fans, did the trick, great times.

Cheers all, look after yourselves, your kin and oppo's, and mostly look forward to Sunday with confidence, win or lose.

I’ve been a bit busy last couple of days , so I’ve not been on here in the morning , I’m sure Nick has noticed and worried himself sick !

Glad your knee is better Pompey , and it’s good to know your wonderful wife is looking after you .
Knees and Backs , nothing but trouble .

I’ve suffered for years with dodgy chips , but luckily , I was able to have them sorted out privately, I had them renovated by a brilliant specialist .
Eight years ago now , how time flies .

The spitfire is back , flying directly over our garden, although it looks and sounds different somehow . It’s definitely got different markings on it ,,It has the traditional RAF Roundels on it whereas the one from last year had the DDay stripes on it .
It may have been repainted of course, but it still sounds different .

Covid had dropped to the third in rankings of killing people in the UK . Amazing .

Beautiful day today , we have been out in the garden getting it spruced up for my wife’s 87 year old mother’s birthday tomorrow.
The bunting is all up , balloons are all blown up , ready to be tied to the gaxmzebo in the morning , cake is made and decorated , food is all ready , timetables all checked and re checked so that we don’t exceed the crowd limit that we are expecting tomorrow !!!
Even the weather looks good!
Most of the family will be checking in on line .
This is the second birthday we have hosted this week , I’m getting to think we should be charging for our services .
We went months not seeing anybody , not seeing the family , now I will be glad when they all go home !!! ..... no I won’t !!!

Hope you are all good , keep safe , look after each other. Stay distanced .

Did a 20 mile hike to Brean Downes today. The heat caught me off guard.😉

The heat! What do you guys call heat..anything above 20C :wahey:

Great to see that you're out there RD enjoying Gods great garden.

I actually loved walking from the car to the office this morning and feeling a cold breeze for the first time in many years. It was 18C at 7am which is very cold indeed in this patch. A very mild top of 26C today. Winter is definitely coming....thank goodness.
