Good Morning Thread

It was just a thought Walt, because the only flying Lancaster has been out n about with a couple of Hurricanes, these were accompanied by 5 or 6 Spitfires.

We have an operational Lancaster in Hamilton, Ontario at the Air museum. $2500 an hour they will take you up in it. Up to 8 people I think.

Whoops. It is slightly more expensive than that!!!

Here is your Biggin Hill Spitfire ride:

Done a quick check, there are 17 Lancasters left in complete build, only 2 are actually Flying, 1 in Canada, 1 here in Britain, of the 17 complete 8 of them are in Canada.
That's some info for ya 80.

Thanks PY. We have a B25 here as well. In the US, private collectors have a terrific variety of flying vintage aircraft. Corsairs, P51s, P38s. I need to get back to the Biggin Hll airshow at some point, I was last there when I was 5 but I remember it.

Also need to get to Oshkosh.

This soooo cool. I am very envious that you get to see this. A chill goes down my spine everytime I see a Spitfire, a P51 or a P38 fly over. And I soooo want to fly that Spit.
New prices this season , half an hour , one person half way around the Isle of Wight and over Portsmouth £2750
Up to 55 minutes , having control of the aircraft , two people around the Island .......
£. 10,000. 00 .
I will post the link , just of to get my wife jabbed up

PY what is the best holiday you have ever taken?
Sorry 80, caught me unawares there, why do you ask lol!

All my holidays have been great one way or another, States, Italy, Spain, Gib, Malta, Tunisia, Carribean, to name a few, all have very different brilliant memories, whether it be beach, lounging around or visiting, studying the past and its heritages.

Probably my bestests though, were coming home to Blighty from an overseas operation, on leave, whilst serving, and see Mrs PY's and the kids boatraces, hubby/daddy home safe, Jesus sorry mate even that has brought a tear to my eye, big softie really.

THAT is excellent. One of my all time favourites was Costa Rica with the kids over Christmas. Our youngest was 16. Nothing beats family vacations or time.

Well I'm sure everyone is either down or pissed off this morning.

I have a day of painting today. Or a month of painting more like. Nooooooooooo.

Thanks spurs for making this more painful.

I am fine today....the team met all my expectations yesterday with no surprises apart from us only losing by the one goal. Looking at the SF and Final records for us since 1991 we have not done too badly in getting to these prestigious points in so many competitions....and being Spursey, it i no surprise how often we fall short. Many many other teams would take these statistics as success. We should come off our high horses of expectations and be glad we do at least get so many near misses.

We have no right to consider ourselves worthy of winning these competitions until we start to do so.

COYS

Bowls today cool but dry in the East ....a few beers and a a lot of discussion about our performance yesterday as in our club there are 8 Spurs no Arse, no Liverpud, one Manure, no City and three West shammer supporters that I know of, not sure how many closet fans are there hiding behind the curtains......so we are in the majority ...
no bragging rights apart from saying at least we regularly res\ach SF or F over the years.

Have a great day...its all in the past you know...onwards and upwards ...we are top of one league though....THE DISSAPOINTMENT LEAGUE...no one else is even close to our record ha ha
(or is that the FCUK CUP LEAGUE) :loser:

Morning all , sun is out again , I’m off to the allotment and will be taking it all out on any weed that dares to show its face .

One of our best holidays was in Tunisia , on our honeymoon , .,
We went to some fantastic places , we hired a taxi for two days , with another couple , and asked the driver to take us to the bits the coaches don’t go to , .
There are some absolutely amazing Roman remains there , walking around the Colosseum at El Jem is something I will never forget . The “cells”below ground , walking up to the top .,just sitting on the stone seats , wandering around on the sand in the centre of the arena , ..... no commercialism , amazing .
We went to the town at Carthage , and just walked through thousands of years of history .
The presidential Palace in Tunis !
The beach , being waited on and being served coffee on silver trays.
The village of Sidi beau Said , sitting in a cafe smoking on hash pipes , ,

Wonderful people .
It all got ruined , our memories, many years later , when somebody walked out of the sea and shot all those tourist at the lovely hotel we stayed at .
Probably killed some of the people that we got to know who made our honeymoon so special . .

Cyprus is also a very special place to us as well .
Maybe one day we will get to go back .

Has anyone done the drive around Lanzarote , amongst the volcanoes and that amazing unearthly landscape ?

Hope you are all well , look after each other.

Holidays.....we are Greek people ....visited many of the islands over the years and Cyprus as well. When the kids were young and there were no holiday company charters, only scheduled flights to Cyprus we used to go every year as it was, once you got there full of character, unspoilt cheap and so so friendly especially if you had young kids. Any restaurant you went in you became family friends in no time. Lovely people at that time in the 80's ,,,, Russian money and Europe have destroyed all the good reasons for going there I feel. Hotels and noise and motorways, loss of character abound - ref my last short business visit in 2018. Never going back, thanks for the memories. Now, after Covid settles down, so 2022 probably, we are going to look at really small islands where you have to get a few ferries to get to and hope they have all the charm and character that the bigger islands have let go,

Sorry to hear this Pompey, hope all works out ok mate. You have certainly both been in the wars .....you seriously need a ceasefire. Good wishes to you both.
Thanks for that Greavsie, Ambulance n 2 paramedics turned up, Mrs PY was in a state, Pains in both Shoulders, Upper Arms, across the Chest, Dizziness, everything looking like a waterfall and blurry in her eyes.

Explained all this to the Para's, so out come all the leads, stuck to chest, shoulders and arms, blood pressure taking at the same time, Mrs PY obliged em with skin colour changes, mottle, blue, red, black, then came the questions regards her ailment of RSD/CRPS with them pointing out why aren't you noted in all our books etc so they have a start.

The massive heart attack and all its happenings were discussed, shock and bloody hell feelings came to the fore.

Phone calls to loads of Doctors, to say Mrs PY needs a HA blood test to make sure, as there are no signs of one on there monitor, could a nurse come out and do the blood test, because she can't/refuses to go to the QA, own Doctors orders, Covid and all that, catching it would kill her simple as that.
So now awaiting, could be a long wait, as Bl' test needs to be done within 24hrs or as near to the HA, even would be, as possible.

After about an hour n half they left, blood pressure a wee bit high but nout to right home about, so not worried.
Mrs PY is feeling a hell of a lot better, we are actually starting think it might be to do with her busted ear drum, which she thinks is repairing itself now.

So all not to bad for now, thank god!
Cheers for now Greavsie and all, look after yourselves, kin and one another.
