Forest v Wham

Interesting comparison to this time last season

- We are one place and one point behind where we were at this point last season, but about to go into an 8 game winless run

- In game week 25 we lost away at West Ham 4-0

- By week 25, we had actually conceded exactly the same number of goals (44) as we have this season. Our defence has not improved at all. If anything it is worse, as most of the goals last season tended to come in a small number of thrashings.

- However, at this point last season we had scored just 19 goals. We have 32 this season, which is only 6 below what we got all last season

- As you can see, last season we had three viable relegation rivals. Southampton dropped away, but there were still 2 places for grabs. This season there is only one place to avoid with two no hopers

- Third bottom was 2 points ahead of where the current third bottom club is.

- But Leicester (who were on the same points as we are now) and Leeds (on one more) both went down.

As long as we don't go on another long winless run and rely on another late season surge, we will be ok.

Unless the PL decide to just fix the whole thing and relegate us to keep Luton up

One of the keys to survival is keeping well clear of Burnley and Sheffield United, which should be easy with an 11 point lead. We have only one place currently to avoid and one of our main rivals for it is in for a similar or the same penalty as us- so we need to maintain some gap to Everton as well as building one to Luton.

I have a feeling that whatever our gap to Luton is by April, our points deduction will, "coincidentally" be a little bit more.

Chaps when we beat Villa 2-0 , that was a bit of a false dawn. Did this have a different feel? Can we beat Villa with a low block counter attacking system?

One of the things that might be overlooked is that we have played most of the very big teams away. Not sure our rivals have but nonetheless interesting statistics

Pushing a narrative that “they” are out to get us in favour of Luton is I think a tad excessive.
Rather than general incompetence from the EPL, the tin-hatters (not baked bean eating Luton supporters, @Ingy) frame their nonsense as some grand conspiracy of Keyser Soze proportions.

Tavares being on the same pitch also has to help make Elanga look like he has amazing football IQ and brilliant end product !

Lol
Lol very true.

He just kicked the ball across the field yesterday to nobody. Lucky we weren't punished. If he cut these out we would have a good player on our hands.

I still cannot get over how deluded Moyes is. He looked a proper bell end on match of the day saying "it was a tight premier league game it's as simple as that" almost as if he was trying to tell himself when the highlights literally just showed forest shot after shot.

On another day it would have easily been 5. We had 4 proper well hit shots on target (Elanga x2, MGW, Danilo) on another day one of them goes in, was unlucky all 4 were straight at the keeper as good saves as they were. A penalty that basically everyone but the officials agree was a penalty. Then Elanga second half somehow missed a complete sitter.

West ham best chance Murillo made sure they didn't even get a shot off. I know we had a few nervy moments but Moyes needs to get some glasses.
