Vital Football Legend
I almost posted an article about the NASA measurements of the ice in Antarctica. It's interesting and the models will be updated accordingly. I presume you referenced it in support of some whacky notion that there is no such thing as global warming?
Unfortunately that's not the case and NASA would be (and were) the first to reiterate that there is a climate crisis. The sea levels are still rising. While the Antarctic prediction may have changed in light of the new data, that water is coming from somewhere and it means the model is UNDERestimating ice melt elsewhere.
Truly dreary times for the planet and humanity.

This year's monthly temperatures:
Jan - 2nd hottest ever
Feb - 2nd hottest ever
Mar - Hottest ever
Apr - 4th hottest ever
May - Hottest ever
Jun - Hottest ever
July - Hottest ever
Aug - Hottest ever
Sep - Hottest ever
Oct - Hottest ever

CO2 emissions this year have breached 400ppm in atmosphere - up 147% since industrial revolution.
Global temperatures have now risen 1C since industrial revolution.
Hurricane Patricia 2015 was the strongest hurricane on record - winds of 200 mph.
350ppm is maximum safety level for C02
1.5C is maximum temperature rise to avoid even more catastrophic impacts than currently being felt
Half a billion people in danger of losing their homes to rising seas.

Wake up and stop pretending it isn't a problem, or it isn't our fault.

It's a shame that 'off topic' doesn't get that much coverage - as per my other messages - provided we are not abusive to each other and respect the views of others, whether we agree or not - debate whatever subjects you like.

Unfortunately, some want 100% Forest - to be just that, it is more often than not allowed to drift - but sometimes, a line has to be drawn in the sand whilst trying to respect the views of all.

Sorry OKD

Found it now

I dont doubt it is happening ITTO I do doubt much of the Data and I do doubt it is all down to Mans actions.

Fair enough, but this section is an absolute graveyard. I liked the idea that someone put forward of having [NFR] for Not Forest Related, or similar. Then people can skip over.
I realise this wouldn't please everyone.
Let's have a poll!

?#?brazilianfukushima? ?#?miningkills? to help: riodoce.help

Things like this !!! concern me more and I would like to know what is going on at Fukishima, how much of the Pacific have they poisoned

The Brazil disaster is an absolute disgrace. Devastating.

Seen the Defence sector share prices over the last week? Trebles all round!

You don't need to doubt the data on a personal level. It is constantly corrected for you by the scientific community.
You done need to doubt the conclusions. They are based on do many independent measurements that they're totally robust. This is one piece of evidence that has been questioned by the new data. It also means that another piece of evidence is incorrect. It's hard to get it right all the time, and no one claims to. Don't throw out the baby with the bath water.

I hadnt but that does not surprise me

Follow the Money I did once you would be shocked (or maybe not) at how often big Pharm and defence lead back to Politicians at the very top especially in America and as for Banking !! I genuinley think if joe Public found out and understood it there may be a revolution

A storm is brewing

Yes, I agree. It is also easy to over egg that pudding though.

Politicians tend to be well-off and rich people tend to invest their money, often in the stock market. Their portfolio is likely to include some shady, profitable companies. It's very easy to find dirt and pin it on people.
Similarly there is a pretty dispicable revolving door between government (and I'm including the civil service) and the private sector. Policitians and civil servants get paid large amounts to sit on the board of big companies that they have previously worked with and often awarded contracts too. Sounds awful (and is!) but that is their area of expertise. They have knowledge of those companies, and the comanies want their insights into government. It doesn't HAVE to be shady, although I'm sure it often is.

It will pass.
OKD, I can't post a poll, gives me an error saying,
Server Error
500 - Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

My point exactly Jock

Mans activities may have accelerated the process or not but it's a natural process that has been going on since the year dot.

We would be better of trying to prepare for it rather than enriching Corporations by trying to reverse the irreversible

Well I can tell you that I had blue buttons earlier last year. They come with the first frost (normally Goose Fair week) and they're still not here, two thirds through the month no frost. I keep a record of them and they've never been this late

Who needs NASA when we have blue buttons?

To be honest I've set you straight on this so many times on here I can't really be bothered any more.

Temperature fluctuations are natural.
What we're seeing now is not natural.
It is not inevitable or irreversible, yet.
It is man made.
The corporations we're enriching are precisely the ones causing the problem. They ahve known this for decades and suppressed any sensible response because they would prefer to stay rich.
Preparing for it might - might - be ok for Europe but will come at a cost you can't begin to comprehend.
It would be much better, much cheaper and much healthier to treat the cause than the symptoms.

I don't need to back up any of these points in this thread because I've done so, in depth, in the past.
You are in denial. As time goes on, even you will begin to acknowledge the truth, then jump up and down saying "why didn't we/ the world's governments sort this out sooner". This isn't a problem for the distant future any more. It's happening all around us. Islands are disappearing because the sea levels are rising, we have more freakish weather events, more fires, less ice (everywhere except Antarctica, it seems), and so on, and so on, and so on, and so on, and so on, and so on.............................

I had one meadow blue button, or blue legs they call them down here a couple of weeks ago since then nothing

But the Horse mushrooms were still going strong up to last week

Let's agree to dissagree ITTO I don't buy it and your convinced.

I am prepared for the blackouts are you ?

That's fine. I won't lose sleep because someone on the Internet is wrong.
I confess that it is quite maddening when you take the time to present some of the overwhelming evidence in an open and shut case and then the other guy runs out of rubbish to say so he resorts to "let's agree to disagree".
Let's hope that the people who matter will make some positive changes at the Paris summit. I don't want to be paying the price of inaction.

I can no longer be arsed ITTO

You warmist zealots will have the lights out before long then no doubt be the first to complain , meanwhile our energy costs go through the Roof driving away industry leaving us even more dependant on Financial services which no doubt you also disapprove of.
