EFL 2 Week 11 Away Attendances

An epic, unbelievable atmosphere, such fun. Nolan at his best, god he give us something to sing about. Brilliant trip, would be in my top ten away league games.

Me, too. Looks like a new thread coming up...

What are your top ten away trips?

I'd have to include, in no particular order:

Fulham (League Cup)
Carlisle Utd (Bailey's goal)
Barnet (as mentioned above)
Swindon Town (went top, more post-match celebrations in the stairwell)
Doncaster Rovers (Friday night game in pouring rain at Belle Vue, won 2-0)
Derby County (League Cup 1967)
Wembley (Checkatrade Final)
Ipswich Town (FA Cup)
Burnley (Same FA Cup)
Grimsby Town (2-4 Yeo hat-trick)

There are so many more I could choose.

Not a big away traveller, but the ones that stick out for me are:

Barnet 2006 - barnstorming 3-2 win after being 2-0 down
Scunthorpe 1996 - another great 3-2 win
Fulham 2005 - most heartbreaking but also most enjoyable defeat ever
Grimsby 2005 - Yeo hat trick and shutting up the Cods immediately after they got back to 2-2
Chesterfield 1992 - 5-1 win after being one down at half time

Ipswich 2017
Gateshead 2017
Notts County 1981
Leicester 1982
Manchester City 1996
Wembley 2018
Boston 1987
Doncaster 1991
Arsenal 2017
Chesterfield 1982

In no particular order :

Ipswich 2017, 2-2, great day out with family, expected to get stuffed
Derby 1967, 1-1, City School day out
Workington 1975 3-0, mainly because it was a long beep way with Cwis and his raffle tickets !
Arsenal 2017 , forgot the score ! wow but is it actually us playing there
Watford 1975, 3-1, Peter Graham master class
Barnet 2009 ? 5-0, Jamie Forrester hat trick
WBA 1976, 2-3, Bryan Robson in full flow sadly, unlucky
Southport, 2017 1-1 , mission completed

as above

man city, [bos version 1] league cup game
scunthorpe ka playoff second leg
tottenham, league cup. trying to cope with hoddle.
matching southampton and le tissier in the league cup.
huddersfield cain offside goal was raucous.

we are getting a much higher percentage of these types of games - great atmosphere, and even getting great results - in the last three years.

In no particular order :

Ipswich 2017, 2-2, great day out with family, expected to get stuffed
Derby 1967, 1-1, City School day out

Likewise in no particular order

- Burnley 2017 - 'Nuff said
- Barnsley 1976 - my first very away game, my Dad took me...
- Bournemouth 2003 - The game that effectively sealed our playoff place in that miracle season
- Cardiff 2003 - What a reward for all that hard work from all at the club
- Southampton 1996 - One of those amazing cup nights, Sir Gareth imperious, unbelievable noise from our fans. The quintessential Dambusters celebration, even my Preston supporting mate joined in
- Leicester 1975 - Taylors' team at full throttle, robbed by the ref. Never seen my Dad so impressed with a Lincoln team
- Wycombe 2016 - Back where we belong and the reassurance we probably wouldn't be struggling in the league above
- Darlington - Have a feeling this was 2002? After Reynolds took over and before the new stadium anyway. I went with my girlfriends uncle who was a fan, I remember his shocked look as my normal "game" language took over, he never mentioned we go again!
-Arsenal 2017 - 'Nuff said, just being there with Notty and watching us go toe to toe for 45 minutes with them was a pinch yourself moment
- Walsall 2012 - A brief beacon of hope in the dull drudgery of our non-league years, Oliver's best game in an Imps shirt
- Chester 2016 - The game I realised we were the real deal finally and probably wouldn't be flattering to deceive..

In no particular order :

Ipswich 2017, 2-2, great day out with family, expected to get stuffed
Derby 1967, 1-1, City School day out
Workington 1975 3-0, mainly because it was a long beep way with Cwis and his raffle tickets !

Missed out Wembley ! Somewhere I never ever thought would happen to us, after all we are Lincoln City !

Grimsby 1977 - First away game and we won
Scunthorpe c. 1980 - First visit, Ian Botham played and I think we won
Boston Boxing Day GMVC - Brown late winner
Man City League Cup
Hull c. 2003 - First away team to win at KC in my then back yard with lots of Tigers fans on my hit list the following week.
Bournemouth PO Final - So proud of the season, result didn't matter
Ipswich
Burnley
Arsenal
Wembley

For me, quite a few of the above with sincilbanks. Not doing many aways here are a few more:

Posh - date unknown but the infamous Simon Brown game.
Southport. Our first conference season so I guess 2011? 2-2 I think.
Crystal Palace, early 90s cup game. The infamous endless added time fiasco.
Birmingham City. FL cup. Missed first 20 minutes owing to huge imps turnout and only 2 turnstiles open.
Newcastle. Circa 1985. Springsteen was awesome. :)

As I have said before I think I actually like a good away day almost more than a home match! Less pressure, a good day out with mates usually find a nice pub and have some lunch and at the moment winning lots. What's not to like?

Leicester City (LC) 75 1-2 Superb effort
West Brom (FAC) 76 2-3 As above
Stockport (L) 76 3-0 David Smith scoring the 100th League goal
Notts County (LC) 81 3-2 Notts were a Div.1(Premiership) side.
Chesterfield (L) 82 2-0 Key promotion challenge victory
Fulham (L) 82 1-1 Great effort but no promotion
Leicester (LC) 82 1-0 Great atmosphere -3-0 win on agg.
Bournemouth (POF) 03 2-5 Great day out and atmosphere
Barnet (L) 06 5-0 Good day out and awesome performance
Arsenal (FAC) 17 0-5 Good Effort
Wembley (CHKT) 18 1-0 Cup win !

Scunthorpe c. 1980 - First visit, Ian Botham played and I think we won

If that was the 2-2 draw at the Old Showground, Botham didn't play. He came on as sub at Sincil Bank a couple of season's later when his drinking mucker Joe Neenan got him self in a spot of bother. I recall it was either a 3-1 or 2-1 win for the Imps.
