Danny Cowley

the vocab use fitted Danny, but we did'nt see much of Nicky so don't know,IMO they tried to do it on Clive and directors, but it was stopped at right time, and they left us at very short notice remember, for the prem league.

I know The udders are a massive club, but they were in the Championship, just.

Well actually they imposed massive taxes on Britannia and restricted free trade, all in return for peace and a promise not to invade. Then they conquered the rest of Europe and got greedier still. They slaughtered over 10% of Britannia’s population of 2 million in a campaign that took 40 years and then continued to kill or enslave any local resistance. They occupied Britannia for 400 odd years making Rome rich on the backs of slave labour from their conquests but never quite got to grips with the rebel tribes from t’other side of the wall up North.
Oh but they built straight roads and built spa baths so everything was alright really.

We could do with a lot more of those straight roads.

It was big business for several centuries.
You see Notty, you can never trust them burgers in Europe.

You missed the bit about Britons selling slaves to the Romans. And, indeed, various British tribes siding with the Romans during rebellions, when it suited them.

Never trust Perfidiuos Albion.

We could do with a lot more of those straight roads.
Noooo. Maybe in flat places but Britain's historical tendancy to go "ooh look, there is a steep hill, let's make the road go straight up it" fills the legs with lactic acid. We need more switchbacks like over there in dirty Johnny foreigner land.

I see what you did there Notty, getting the conversation back on the thread of Danny Cowley in a roundabout way.

Essex boys to a man!

But let's not pretend the Celtic Britons were a united nation. No more so than we are today. But, equally, they had significant cultural, political and economic ties with mainland Europe. Just as we should have today.

There’s an old saying ‘ Never trust a Spanish Fisherman’
