Trump isn't a neoliberal. Old-school protectionist capitalist if you can put any label on him.
I put the label 'Mad ****' on Trump.

Also, the EU guarantees some worker's rights which is why the Tories want out, amongst other regressive reasons.
So what workers rights does protect by silent increasing import tariffs on goods such as oranges (from 3.2% to 16%) which come in?
I think your comparing oranges with apples there.
Bit like those who rail against neoliberalism in the form of the Tories and Trump but welcome it with open arms in the form of the EU, then.
Back on topic, congrats Clive and Roger.
But the principle is still the same, people are moaning about Trumps import tariffs on steel etc but why does the EU impose and justify a 5 fold increase in this tariff, it does not benefit the UK (as we don't grow them so why is it in the UK interest to increase it?) but does effect many 3rd world (poorer) countries that do export them to the UK and EU.
Thank you to all those that have offered their congrats on this forum. That and your support is very much appreciated. For those that are less convinced there is no problem from my side in a healthy dose of skepticism.
I hope some of your questions or concerns in particular over my location have been answered in various statements, articles or interviews. I still intend to pop in at times and contribute on this forum.
And finally, my sincere apologies if I have diverted the discussion away from Trump, Brexit etc.

I am a Socialist remainer; I prefer to reform from within rather standing outside and having a tantrum.Bit like those who rail against neoliberalism in the form of the Tories and Trump but welcome it with open arms in the form of the EU, then.

It's in our interest because as a member of the EU we can negotiate that tariff away for reciprocal trade arrangements that do benefit us. The UK has done that repeatedly over the course of it's membership of the EU. Particularly as the largest part of our economy is generated by services which usually do not attract a trade tariff. We're essentially using other EU countries nerve points over trade to negotiate better trade deals which will benefit the UK to the same extent as the rest of the EU.
I hope that your new role will not preclude you from entering next season's where will they finish competition? ( you improved last season)
