His son is his dad!
Of the champagne variety...
On reflection perhaps my criticism of 70s British industry was a tad unfair. To be honest picking up a big chunk of the bill for saving the world from a spell in the dark ages left us a bit short of reddies for investment. It was nice to hear the new German president of the EU recently inform us that their would be consequences in our leaving. Nice touch that.

Whatever boomer
Just out of interest did you take part in any military action during WW2
Or are you are one of those people who take credit for other peoples achievement
Good idea. Lets just forget it ever happened. Probably just a misunderstanding that got out of hand anyway. You leavers really need to get over the Second World War, the Germans & Japanese have.
Yes. A nice touch. What a refreshing change that someone is telling the truth! It was nice to hear the new German president of the EU recently inform us that their would be consequences in our leaving. Nice touch that.

It won't be themselves and it won't be the party they choose to vote forA sad day indeed.
I just wonder who those Leave voters who blamed the EU for all of their failures in life and for everything that made their lives so shit, will blame in years to come when their lives are still as shit, if not worse?
It feels like a wake. The twats won. My generation failed to stop them. My generation fought but lost against prejudice, fear, pride and suspicion. I hope my children's generation will do better, shorn of birthrights that I have enjoyed my entire life.
It's a big loss to the Brexit fanatics too, and this worries me.
Who do they blame for all their problems now? The boogeyman of the EU is gone. The Tory brexiteers have always had a reliable monster to blame for the effects of all the horrible policies they have inflicted on the working class of this country. Who do they blame now?
My fear is that inevitably it will be the brown people; more specifically Muslims. In their desperation to distance themselves from the consequences of their own ideology, I fear they will indulge the fact that for a significant number of working class brexiteers, putting brown people on boats, particularly Muslims, was what they were really voting for.
Those brexiteers on here who are doing to howl in protest; fuck off in advance. You may not have voted for that reason, but that 4% majority vanishes very easily without Islamophobia, primarily amongst the working class.
So when they realise that these sunlit uplands that we were promised don't exist; that not another penny is going to go into the NHS as a result of Brexit; that Brexit is a two way street and actually restricts them and their Spanish holidays more than it does foreigners; who is Rees Mogg and co going to blame for their own economic policies?
Will they hold their hands up and say yep, it's us, your lives are shit because we took those decisions?
Or are they going to indulge their friends at the Mail and express and allow the country to slip into blaming Muslims?
Who knows, maybe they'll go 1930s and try to demonise socialists. But no one from my local wetherspoons voted with the intention of putting socialists on boats
That post is stupid even by your standardsFor someone who is supposed to be educated, you do really seem incapable of understanding things. What "restrictions" have been placed on Spanish holidays? They either want us or they don't. Would benefit our coastal economy by billions if people holiday here, but no one has placed any restrictions on holidays within the EU. They may charge a small visa fee.
Your generation fought against it ? Most of the 30 and 40 year olds I know voted to leave. No one knows who voted for what in the secret ballot, other than small surveys that have proved they are usually wrong. From what I've read about University education now, and the ludicrous reaction of people on here, there are probably far more younger people who voted leave who daren't say they did.
Like all things in life there are upsides and downsides. You seeem to be devastated because you have lost rights that you , and 95% of the population don't use, or may not even lose. Most capable people will still be able to work anywhere in Europe, Erasmus may continue, if you pay to go to a foreign University will they turn you away? As I've said before , the biggest barrier to movement is the languages.
Brexiteers will turn on "brown" people ? Many brexiteers are "brown " people!
What has leaving the EU got to do with "brown" people, other than in deluded Remainer accusations of racism?
Brexit may go wrong (I'm sure you will be delighted if it does), but you could at least wait to see what happens before deciding it's all gone wrong. Companies who campaigned for remain, like Goldman Sachs , have already invested and created more UK jobs.
Who knows what will happen. Exciting times are ahead, and we may as well start off with optimism.
