Bolton v Aston Villa - Match Thread - Fri 19th April, 3pm

Never in doubt.

Grealish in their half from min 45 and it was easy.

Worry about Abraham, but surely if it was serious, they would have took him to hispital.

Albion it is then

Motm , Grealish 2nd half but Axel over the 90

Never thought we would see the day after all the endurance years with Villa.

Thats the first time in 109 years we have won 9 on the bounce the media is saying.

Play offs is looking good now! Only 2 clubs that can knock us out of the top 6 from the way I am reading it

Club record equalling in fact. Last (only?!) achieved in 1910! Chance for history on Monday!

Additionally, today Tammy became our first player to bag 25 league goals in a season since Andy Gray in 1976-77.

Hope we can maintain the enthusiasm. It would just like us to get to the final then not turn up. If anybody can keep us firing it's Smith.

Looking at the stats, we had 21 shots and 9 on target. Should have scored more.

Not beaten any of our possible play off opponents  Still a lot to do. Anybody fancy popping round to Dwight Gayle's gaff.... If we get out of this league, we will have done it the hard way.

Agreed.

Those boring draws have proved so costly.

Only Norwich have lost fewer games than us but only 4 have drawn more. I said it on the Dean Smith thread but I've no doubt at all that we'd lead the division if he'd come in with the new owners.

Well done to Dean and the players for 9 in a row. 4 points pretty much guarantees us a play off spot with Bristol City still to play Derby, as Boro are very unlikely to win all their games by 4 or 5! Sounds like Axel’s injury is not too bad and Kodjia may well be back on Monday. Hopefully Tammy’s injury is just bad bruising rather than anything serious. If we can go into the play offs with a fit squad then we don’t need to fear anyone.

Great day. Just on the train home from Manchester after the one just after 7 was cancelled, great vibe on this train after yet another win/away win. Lovely weather and lots of drink flowing today, great atmosphere in the away end. Definitely should’ve put more than 2 past them, especially in the second half as they looked very uninterested. Official attendance was just over 17,000, not a chance was there 11,000 of their fans across the other 3 stands, looked so bare almost like it was a friendly.

Roll on Monday for ‘La Decima’ ?
