To me it seems pretty tawdry the way they are going about this.

I get the tech progress argument that then filters into real life to improve things, but at least Musk's self landing rockets save billions given they can be reused.

He gives shit loads to charity.

Are people saying he has to give away ALL of his wealth that he has worked so hard for, and can't enjoy any for himself to persue other endeavours to not be classed as a knob?

Many of the great pioneers of history were wealthy, rich or whatever you want to call them. Not sure why nowadays the rich wealthy pioneers are all arseholes .

True, but when he does things like keep his delivery drivers tips when he doesn't exactly need the money plus other things I could name. Yes he's a brilliant successful guy but he's also far from being a nice person.
